great for a quiet getaway

beautiful location, nearby drive from Singapore, and quiet.
7.3
I loved it. Granted that the rooms are not fantastic but for the price u pay, you get what u give. I will definitely come back again. It is quiet. No one to disturb you. I loved the tree house with hammocks! Could swing there all day. I was very disappointed that we missed the snorkeling. There was some miscommunication with the front desk. He said 9.30 and we thought 9.30 onwards. When we arrived at 9.37 the boat left for the day. And they only have one snorkeling trip a day.

D'Coconut is a small fun sized family resort but you need to go with minimum of expectations. My main gripe would be its pool, which looked a bit murky so we did not swim in it. The food selection was limited and as there were no shops on the island, getting snacks was not possible. The beach & sea was fantastic. As to the coral & snorkeling it was only so so. All in all value for money a good place to relax and do nothing but slightly disappointed as so much potential not realized.

Very relaxing

location is close to the beach, natural setting, friendly staff

It was pleasantly nice. Though there was a power cut from 3 to 5, it didn't affect us much because we were outside enjoying nature. The unpleasant surprise was actually the RM520 that we had to pay at the hotel upon arrival for the return ferry transfer for 3 adults and 2 children. We were not told of the ferry fare until our arrival at the resort.

OK, but could do much better

Location, surroudings, breakfast
6.3
The resort seems to be going to seed a bit. The pool gradually went greener during our stay and then was closed off. There often wasn't our first choices in food or drink available, and the staff were a bit lack-lustre. Our shower room was basic to say the least, and the towels threadbare. The Aseana next door is the far superior choice, which we would have gone to instead had we known. Having said that, D'Coconut is good value for money and friendly enough. It is situated in gorgeous surroundings, plus they do a nice breakfast buffet.

good for relaxation

friendly staff, quiet environment, beach fronting

Stay was pleasant, nothing fantastic. Room was very basic, no room service at all. Good thing was the air conditioning. Rooms needs upgrading because the room we were staying has tapes secured at the edges of room walls. The stay was rather pleasant as the resort was near the beach and the quiet environment allows those who want to just relax the opportunity to do so. The sandflies there attack in swarms and my stay at the resort was marred by the hugh red welts, courtesy of the snaffles. perhaps the staff could caution guests about the sandflies and to use plenty of insect repellent each time they sit near the beach.
