Disappointed by the management

D'Coconut Island Resort
The hotel didn't get my reservation! The hotel manager is not nice even though the rest of the staff tried they best to be nice & welcoming

Very aggressive management

location by the beach, swimming pool, view
location is ok, but the experience is a bit ruined because of the aggressive manager, when addressed any questions... We saw a few arguments with other guests, quite unrealistic... Also, the staff asks to commit for meals 3 hours in advance, which isn't really convenient. We had friends at the hotel next door, and they didn't have any of these rules... Would truly recommend hotel next door that offers overall much better services and facilities.

Opinion of changes that should be taken into

The beach, The peaceful setting,
I wont say it was great. it was OK! the disturbing part of staying there was that i had to change rooms because the toilet had loads of ants in it, lights and water heater in the bathroom was not working. After changing the room got a better room but no hair dryer's was available... no TV in the rooms and it was a bit frustrating to not have a hot water kettle and 3 in 2 coffee like other normal hotels. During my stay there, i had the urge to have hot coffee but the restaurant do not serve food or drinks during the day except for a certain timing due to budget restrains. How can this be delivered by a 3rd star hotel? They have restricted drinks and food and they do not sell basics or have a small shop on the resort. we will have to depend on a local shop thay says they are open but is locked all the time. if you are looking into getting really comfortable during the trip there. i would suggest bring a hot water kettle along with 3 in 1 drinks, snacks, your own hair dryer and etc etc that seem fit to your requirements for a holiday. The only thing you get from the resort is a simple chalet with a good bed and good A/C, food at designated timing and thats it. If you are looking at getting away from the world or technology, this will be the place to go.. no good mobile reception and data.. keeps you away from the world... i had a good stay, but it could have been better.. coz im a coffee lover.. :)

The manger scolded customer infront of everyone

D'Coconut Island Resort
Very bad the first day check in the receptionist expect us to use the tower for 3 days that's no pool tower provided. Room is not clean got insect inside room. They off the air cond between 3pm - 5pm so is super hot inside the room with no fan can you amagize ? Breakfast is lousy, the manager just start working there he is very rude & impolite to customer. We get scolded by him because they didn't put the site clearly about wearing shoe in some area. I will never go back that's hotel again. I recommended the next hotel beside d'coconit its call aseania resort more facilities with resonable price.

great for a quiet getaway

beautiful location, nearby drive from Singapore, and quiet.
I loved it. Granted that the rooms are not fantastic but for the price u pay, you get what u give. I will definitely come back again. It is quiet. No one to disturb you. I loved the tree house with hammocks! Could swing there all day. I was very disappointed that we missed the snorkeling. There was some miscommunication with the front desk. He said 9.30 and we thought 9.30 onwards. When we arrived at 9.37 the boat left for the day. And they only have one snorkeling trip a day.

Value for money but can lots of room for improment

1) Beach 2) Location 3) Value for money
D'Coconut is a small fun sized family resort but you need to go with minimum of expectations. My main gripe would be its pool, which looked a bit murky so we did not swim in it. The food selection was limited and as there were no shops on the island, getting snacks was not possible. The beach & sea was fantastic. As to the coral & snorkeling it was only so so. All in all value for money a good place to relax and do nothing but slightly disappointed as so much potential not realized.
