Nice Hotel but definitely not something for people who want to sleep..
We booked this hotel for one night because we had to fly home from Bangkok early the next morning. Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk informed us that our room was facing the street and would therefore be "noisy" until 2am, but that we could change rooms later if we decided that the noise was too much for us. We went out to eat and came back at about 12.30am, and realized that the hotel is actually located right inbetween two clubs who seemed to have a battle going on about who could play music at higher volume (same goes for the bars at the opposite side of the street). Seeing that we had spent the previous night in a bus and therefore hadn't gotten much sleep, we went straight back to the front desk and asked them to change our room to one that wasn't facing the street directly. The lady was very unfriendly as she told us that the hotel was full and we couldn't get another room and got even unfriendlier as we complained saying that a few hours before we had been reassured that a change of rooms would be possible at any time. She got very intense and told us that we could change rooms the next day at noon, but didn't seem to care or understand that we would leave before that. We politely reminded her that we had been promised that a room change would be possible, when suddenly changed her mind and said that we could get another room, but that we had to pay extra as the rooms not facing the street are more expensive. Generally this did make sense to us, yet we did not understand why we hadn't been informed about the higher rate of the other rooms upon checkin and had instead just been told that swichting rooms was always an option. Basically, we felt like we had a disco right in our room and earplugs didn't help much (as backpackers, we usually don't mind noise but this was a completely different level!). We had to get up at 5am to catch our flight the next morning and barely slept, as the music continued until 3.30am (not 2am as we had been told). Other t

Our room was right on Khao San road at the front of the hotel, but if you go to sleep after 2am the noise isn't too bad so it was a great location for a young couple, maybe not a family. The rooftop pool was lovely. We arrived at 6am and they were able to give us a room by 7am when check in wasn't until 2pm and we were still only charged for one night so it was brilliant value for money for us!

Great Place!!
We stayed here for a couple of days and it was really great! The place is really nice and the rooms are great. Just be mindful that the rooms facing the street are really loud from the music until 2am in the morning. Like really really loud! Luckily I like a good party so it was fine but for those who'd like a quiet nights sleep let them know when you book (i think you pay a little extra too). The pool was good as well as the breakfast! If defiantly head back here!

Brand new room
Pros , we found ourselves in a pretty much brand spanking new room, ok there was still ongoing work but it didn't bother us at all The roof top pool was the perfect way to end a day Cons If you're at the front of the hotel it could be very noisy ( overheard other guests talking ) All in all a pleasant surprise

Extremely noisy rooms force you to pay for upgrade
This hotel is right on the VERY noisy Khaosan road, with the cheap rooms facing onto the road itself. You hear thumping club music from the bars below, even with earplugs, which mean most people choose to pay an extra 700 thb per night to upgrade to a quieter room that doesn't face the road. This doubles the price and makes this much less of a bargain. The room itself was good though, nice bed/linen, powerful shower, clean floors. The staff were very patient and accommodating too, in the face of so many tired and angry customers. This is an ideal hotel if you are planning on getting drunk on the Khaosan road and want to roll into your room in the early hours and don't care about noise. If you are a couple/family I would strongly recommend you find somewhere else to stay.
