Avoid if possible.

Pros: Near the center, a few minutes walking distance to the Forbidden City, subway, restaurants & shopping area. Cons: - WiFi doesn't work, regardless of the hotel staff saying they re-activated the log-on every 15 minutes. - Walls are super thin. You can hear the guests in the next room and even in the hallways. Wallpaper was peeling off. - Adjacent wing (where we stayed) to the lobby has no cover so be ready to be wet (if it rains). - Staff are rude (speaking loudly to guests & calling the room 20 minutes before check out to ask when we're leaving). They can't speak or understand English efficiently. We asked for 2 room cards since there are 2 of us but they refused to give it. The bellboy was the only one who was nice and helpful. - Be ready to deposit USD100 (given back when you check out). But the staff got rude when demanding for the receipt back, despite the fact that we had given it to them. And when they realized they had it all along, just brushed us off. - Breakfast buffet is the same every morning. Mainly catering to Chinese cuisine. Breads were stale & hard. Staff don't seem interested to do their job except to clean up the tables after the guests finish. - Hotel overcharges for airport pickup (300RMB compared to a little over 120RMB if using the official metered taxi from the airport). Take the official metered taxi from the airport (but only pay the taxi driver & not the conmen who pretend to work for the taxi companies and demand you to pay them over 300RMB before you depart). - Hotel doesn't deal with any other currencies except Chinese Yuan & the currency exchange machine in the lobby has a terrible rate.

Location, that's it

Location, location and location
The hotel's (more like motel) is really great, 5 mins walk from the forbidden city and food. However the room is one of the worst ones I've stayed - when price is taken into consideration. Moldy and damp carpet, moldy shower floors and rusted taps. Seriously, was actually scared to sleep and shower. Would not recommend this place unless you cannot find other places.

Basement has no Elevator

Location, Room
How can someone designed a room that doesn't have elevator to access (basement rooms). Although price is slightly cheaper, but it is very inconvenience for travelers with luggage.

My stay at forbidden city

Location,hot shower
The only good thing about the days inn was the location. The bed was very hard, staff struggled with English, the rooms need a good clean up.

Good Location, Decent Rooms

Location, location, location.
Rooms are outdated. The carpet and decor in the room badly needs a change. The bathroom was clean and had good hot water pressure. The free wifi is as good as no wifi at all. I had to use international data roaming in the room to get a better connection but only got 3G connection (4G if you go to Wangfujing area). All in all, it's okay for a couple of nights at the price.

Mediocre hotel, overpriced food, unfriendly staff

Staff spoke little to no English which you would expect from someone in the travel and tourism industry. They weren't very courteous and it seemed like we were bothering them when we would approach for help with anything. Workers at breakfast didn't understand our requests and ended up double charging us for breakfast. The food was extremely overpriced and not good. Other than that, the location was good. The value for the hotel is in line with what we paid for. All in all, I would not stay here again. If rather pay more for a more enjoyable experience.

Not Bad

Location, Room, Staff
The hotel is between Wang Fu Jing and Tian'an Men. Room condition is good, there is a big bath tub in the toilet. Staffs are helpful and friendly.Overall I'm satisfied!May consider come again next time.

Just ok

Excellent location, very comfortable beds, nice courtyard with delicious dumpling restaurant
The rooms were a little run down. Excellent shower power. The door to the bathroom didn't close well. They allowed extra people in the room. The hotel was very close to Forbidden City so it's great for going there. More towels and free coffee would be nice.

highly recommended, everything is walking distance

location cleanliness and staff helpfulff helpful
Love the location, wangfujing, tiannanmen, forbidden city, malls, night market, food trips are just walking distance. everything was perfect except their wifi connection was very bad, they should upgrade it so guests can use net. Another weird thing was their towels, even though they were new, they seem a bit wet when used. Other than than, perfect!
