Good location

Good service and location
7.7
Location is definetely the best thing about this hotel. Also the staff is friendly and their English was rather good. They arranged our transfer from/to the airport, thus we did not have any hassle but they charge for the service. Breakfast was good, good mix between Chinese and western choices incl. an "egg chef". Rooms are good but some of them in the basement smell mouldy, thus better try to get one upstairs.

Near to places of interest but no good food ..

staff service - bad (tends to ignore you or give you some "face" when you ask them for anything...) room - average room, no bathtub, carpet not clean, bedsheet will not be changed unless asked. coffee cup will not be clean unless asked. environment - from the outside, looks modern enough. close to nearby places of interest. 1 km walk to nearby eating places.
Hotel Feature Tip: bring along own towel. noticed that their towel were not changed (as can see stains). And although hotel provide 2 bottles of drinking water for free.. it's tastes is just funny.

Great Location but small rooms and bed

Good location, near MRT, bus stop near hotel and restaurant

Reception staff not friendly, even though we book deluxe king, the bed we get was a queen size bed, which is rather small. On the first day we check in, they put us in a room next to a construction site, it was noisy the whole nite thru, when we complaint the next day, we were transfer to a room next to the garden. Anyway, the rooms and toilet are clean and tidy. You should try out the restaurant in Citytel just opposite Forbidden inn, on level 2 or 3, its cheap and good
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Don't trust 100% the direction guide given by the local, they will tell you its only 10 min walking distance but you may end up walking for 30 min or 40 min and still not reaching the destination. Local are not friendly, taxis are extremely hard to get, so its best to travel by bus.

Lovely hotel with nice environment

The hotel has a nice environment with a mini garden. However the deluxe room that I stayed with 2 other friends is a bit small. Might be fine for 2 pax but squeezy though for 3 persons. It's located near to Tiananmen East MTR station (about 10-15mins walk) and near to places of interest such as Tiananmen & Forbidden City as well as the famous shopping area Wangfujing. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful.

Great Location with small but adequate rooms

Near to several attractions and subway

Hotel room is small but adequate. Toiletries plus other amenities like kettle, hair dryer and wired Internet are available. Unfortunately wifi is only available at the lobby (located at a separate building but only a short walk away). 2 small bottles of drinking water are provided each day. Plenty of hot water for the shower but air conditioning is not that strong. Room will be a bit warm until it cools. Staffs are friendly although not all are able to speak English. They do allow early check-in (if room is available) and slightly extended check-out. Best thing about this hotel is it's location. There are several marts and a pharmacy nearby to get some necessities. Nearest subway is about 8 mins away (walking distance). Hotel is about 10 mins walking distance from the main shopping street, Wangfujing (from the hotel, left of subway). Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City are about 15 mins away (from the hotel, right of subway.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: If you are visiting in summer or even early autumn, please make sure to put on plenty of sunblock and bring an umbrella. The sun can be brutal. Drink plenty of water as pollution is quite bad.

Great location and love it

Hotel location is very good and convenient. Local attractions are within walking distance and it's near to subways stations (Wang Fu Jing).

I'll choose this hotel again if I return to Beijing in the future for another vacation. Hotel environment was great; clean and tidy. The air conditioner is a bit slow to cool up the room but overall still ok. Wifi is only available in the lobby.

Great choice!

Good location and comfortable room

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel! Location is great, and room is nice and comfortable. One thing though, the cleanliness of the bathroom can still improve a little. Overall, a good stay. We'll definitely choose this hotel again.

Walking distance to most main attractions!

Cosy hotel surroundings and near to main attractions
7.7
The hotel outlook is very nice and cosy. The lobby has wifi and the hotel desk receptionist speaks english. Some how for people who can speak chinese, it is best to speak english. As they tend to treat you like one of them and do not have much respect. So, english is the way to go! The room has good amenities and it is clean. The bed is not the best, but after all those walking, you generally konk off to bed once you lift those legs of yours. They have fully stocked refrigerator (at your expense of course) and condoms if you need them! TV has multiple channels ranging from chinese to HBO. Nice selections. Toilet was clean and the shower was new and great.
Travel tip: Transportation: If you want to head to Wangfujing area (food and shopping), walk 5 mins across the street. If you want to head to Jinshan, you need to walk about 20-30 minutes but it is shaded and gives you time to absorb the surrounding and culture and their public toilets. You can head to Tiannanmen Square & front entrance of the Forbidden City roughly about 20-25 mins too heading in the other direction. To the airport, taking a cab costs about 90 RMB and it is more convenient if you are travelling in a big group. PS: Get out earlier and the street outside the hotel has very little cabs passing by. Food: They have small shops that sells dimsum and fried dishes along the street outside the hotel. No 7-11s or convenient store. You need to walk 5-8 mins to one to get your water or snacks. The shops close early after 930PM. But if you are looking for midnight supper, there is a place Malan that sells rice and noodles (fast food chain) 24 hours. And opposite it, they have a convenient store as well. Other than that, you can explore the streets, or you can just head to Wangfujing for scorpions and maggots for snacks. Local beer is cheap and nice. Shopping: Wangfuxing area is the best to get souvenirs and bargaining is needed. Make sure you bargain ONLY IF YOU INTENDED TO BUY. And watch out for spits and shits even on the walkway or entrance of a big shopping mall. But things in Beijing is much better (since after the Olympics), so do not freak out.
