altes Hotel

dieses hotel habe ich schon vor 5 jahren gebucht. schon damals war es renovationsbedürftig. aber nichts ist geschehen. die zimmer, bettwäsche usw sind alt, schmutzig. den boden zieren uralte zerknitterte spannteppiche. das badezimmer ist schmutzig - aber es kann vermutlich gar nicht ganz sauber gemacht werden. das internet wireless funktionierte bei mir nicht.
in surin habe ich einen tag später ein wunderschönes neues hotel mit grossen zimmern, falchbildschirm...für thb gebucht (orchid)

Ein Großhotel mit absteigender Tendenz
Dem Übernachtungszweck wurde gedient

parkplatz vorhanden, hilfsbereite mitarbeiter, alles andere ganz ohne glanz - gänge, raum, bad - nutzbar jedoch ohne einschränkung. frühstück sehr "düster".
Reiseempfehlung:
Hotel ist zum Zweck ein paar Übernachtungen geeignet, mehr aber auch nicht. Frühstück miserabel.

Wir buchten dieses Hotel auf Grund einer abgegebenen Bewertung die ziehmlich hoch war. Wir sind davon asgegangen, dass Bewertungen korrekt abgegeben werden. wie wir leider feststellen mussten ist das nicht immer der Fall. Der Empang war freundlich, dabei blieb es dann auch. Die Zimmer sind alt und schmutzig, Air-con laut und das Badezimmer auch nicht gerade einladend. Nebenan befindet sich eine Discho deren Lärm sich kaum überbieten lässt! So um 3 Uhr morgens trat dann etwas Ruhe ein. Zum Frühstück gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, wir verzichteten auf das selbige und verpflegten uns aussehalb. Nein in dieses Hotel kommen wir bestimmt nicht mehr zurück und können es auch nicht wirklich weiterempfehlen.

The staff were hopeless and didnt care... especially breakfast where I had to cook my own toast in the toaster behind the kitchen... even though requesting an early breakfast which was supose dt be included I was initially told no when arriving at the breakfast area... the old guy running the kitchen didnt want to know... hopeless!

I would think twice before staying there again

Hotel very old needs paint and clean up in the hall ways and dinning area lots of water on the celling, has a club joining the hotel noises to about 6am in the morning.

Very convenient and a nice comfortable quiet place

The hotel did everything that I required it to do. I need comfort and a good night's sleep, and that I got. I will definately stay here again if I need to be in Roi Et city.

Dated hotel that's seen better days

Hotel is very dated. If passing through Roi Et again, I will look for an alternative. Staff is friendly but you must be able to speak a little Thai.

Very Dated and Unfriendly

My first stay was 30 years ago, and it is getting worse. Dirty, unfriendly staff, Wireless non existence, therefore if you have a better choice, do try. If you cannot avoid, then good luck.
Empfehlung zum Hotel:
Try to get the upper floor room.

From the outside it looks ok

this hotel is on par with some of the lower end hotels in china. staff are not friendly or helpful. rooms at best can be described as low end. noise from the night club located in the hotel is ridiculous... a/c worked well but was very noisy. i am surprised that agoda has this hotel on their list of hotels for roi et.

1980's timewarp, bring own sheets

I stayed here because of the many bad comments on Agoda and was not disappointed.
Maithai is a classic old hotel, a bit like The Grace Hotel in Bangkok (another favorite). There are lots of thriving and dodgy businesses attached to it - sauna, massage, hairdressers, snooker room, bars and so on. So it has a fantastic sleazy appeal. It's also falling apart and has not been properly renovated for -probably - ever. Right now it falls on the side of scuzzy, but in a few years it will be hailed as a 1980s classic and might well be given a preservation order. Until then, it's not for everyone.
The room was a bit stinky (smoking is allowed throughout). The electrical wiring is downright scary. The bathroom is a time machine set to 1986. But hot water is endless and the bath filled in 1 minute. No English TV.
Breakfast - served in the 1980s dining room - is the classic Thai interpretation of the British fry up; hand carved sausages, overcooked eggs, lettuce and parsley. Coffee and creamer. All served by ancient and kindly old geezer in a smudged uniform. A joy, that is increasingly hard to find.
Overall, the staff were lovely. I would stay here again. But I would bring my own sheets.
