Impeccable service but small rooms

Overall enjoyable experience. Arrived way before expected time and was allowed an early check in. Housekeeping did a great job in keeping the rooms clean. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful, especially at three-sixty restaurant though we would have preferred more hot savory dishes for breakfast than what was being offered. But of course if you had a sweet tooth you would love the spread.
Restaurantempfehlung:
Try the food at Taipan Chinese restaurant located on the top floor. Serves great dim sum!

Luxury hotel

I arrived by Rikscha because I love this way of traveling and moving through Delhi. The reception of guests in Rikscha's seems to be far less friendly then for guests arriving with cars. This was disappointing. I expect from Oberoi that guests arriving by feet, bicycle, rikscha or car get all a warm welcome.
The security check was ridiculous, would make sense to stop it.
But concluding: This is really a very good hotel. The swimming pool is just great. Also the SPA is fine. The lobby is large. Beautiful.

Traditional luxury hotel, reasonable price

Entering the Oberoi New Delhi is an experience itself: very traditional and classic luxurious atmosphere, employees immeadiately approach you with interest in serving and assisting you without being intrusive.
Arriving at noon and having just half a day for a basic tour of Delhi they were able to arrange a very knowledgeable and kind guide as well as transport to start the tour at 1pm.
After having a glass of Indian wine and some snacks for 'lunch' at the bar, a lady from the hotel accompanied to the room, explaining in detail but very naturally all the facilities at the hotel as well as suggesting her personal preferences on side trips according to what I have said I liked.
The room and bathroom are spacious, of very high standards, clean and comfortable. Expected but important to note.
After touring the city and having dinner, returned to the hotel and since the flight out was early morning next day, the concierge helped by arranging transportation for next day, giving recommendations on timing, etc. always very helpful.
The employees do not accept tips personally, they all request you put them in an envelop the day of departure to be added and shared with other employees tips.
A great experience worth repeating.

i had a series of meetings in the hotel and the staff was extremely helpful.
some of the rooms are in need of a little renovation. but, the quality of the staff really made up for any short-comings.

My one night stay could not have been better. I arrived way before check in time, and was given a late check out time with no charge. My room, on the 6th floor facing the golf course, provided just the respite I needed from the hot hot weather and a busy 3 weeks in India. I had not known about the lap pool, which was wonderful during the day when it was too hot to enjoy the outdoor pool (which I loved during the early morning cooler hours).

I enjoyed my 6 day stay at the Oberoi, Delhi. The staff were courteous and pleasant, well trained and attentive. The rooms, although dated, were clean and fresh with every detail well thought out - also spacious and beds comfortable. Delhi is an expensive place to stay and this hotel was no exception with high prices for rooms and restaurants alike. I also used the gym and that was superb with, again, friendly and attentive staff.

Good business hotel but better places to stay
Club Bar and 360 Breakfast room are good. Nicely furnished rooms.

I would recommend the Oberoi to business travellers in Delhi given its close proximity to the airport. The rooms are of high standard but ours was very noisey as there was an event disco happening - even though we were on the 8th floor.
We ate in both the Italian and 360 main restaurants. The Italian was nice but fine dining and small portions with an extremely overpriced wine list.
If you are a tourist you would be better placed at the Imperial Hotel as this has far more charm and a great bar to relax in.

We enjoyed our stay at the Oberoi in Delhi. While it is a business hotel, it is still quite beautiful and the staff are ever so attentive and friendly. The butler service was particularly convenient as the butler was the first point of contact for every need and resolved any issues straight away.
The only thing we did not like was the 360 restaurant - the food was not great, there were too many waiters and too much confusion causing our food to get cold. However when we mentioned this to the restaurant manager, she was very apologetic and we were surprised to find at check-out that the restaurant charges were waived entirely!
