Quite place centrally located, efficient staff

centrally located close to a canal, however rather quite
got upgraded to a large room with balcony on the last floor. Breakfast not included in the agoda price makes it a rather expansive place except if you get upgraded to a large room (which was our case) in which case it's good value for money

beautifully renovated, classical style and central

spacious and luxurious
not much to comment on this hotel, it was simply a very pleasant stay. we initially received a canal-view room, however we wanted a room with a bath tub. the change was no problem, the second room was even slightly bigger. the fact that it faced the street was no issue, the windows seem to be pretty sound proof. the agoda price (€) was very attractive for this 4-star hotel, the prices on the hotel site couldn't match it. they will even charge another € for a canal-view room, i guess if you book through agoda you just got to be lucky.

Perfect location

We got a room with canal view, just what we asked for. It's a good hotel with perfect location.

Clean, Quaint and Quiet

Quiet, Great room design, good service
I stayed in June for one night. They put me in a huge room on the 4th level. I had to take the lift to the second floor and walk stairs to the 4th floor. This room had a super high ceiling with wooden cross beams and was very spacious with plenty of windows. Windows are all equipped with black out shades. Bed was comfortable. Room was very quiet with a nice view of the area. Front desk was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my quick stay.

Perfect Location

Cllose to everything
Withen walking distance to the centrum and all the places you would like to see. The hotel is well run but because it's on the main street the room can get a little loud.Make sure you get a double bed,two singles side by side was a shock to my lady but the changed it out after the first night.Make sure to get the canal view in the new wing and you will be happy.

Dikker En Thijs Fenice Hotel

Very good location; clean, large room; comfortable bed; efficient service; superb views of canal; good local shops and easy access to all areas
Well-situated, with access to the tram network, this is a traditional hotel that makes a change from the identikit features of the larger chains. Some of the features are probably in need of an update, but when you have superb views over Prinsengracht and very clean rooms that outweighs most disadvantages. Some of the floors could do with better soundproofing, especially if you sleep fairly lightly. However, I would recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal, and would certainly have this on my short-list for future visits to Amsterdam.
