Long walk to the guesthouse
We had to walk a long way to get to our room - view was fantastic though. Rooms are clean but you have to share the bathrooms with the other guests. Luckily, we had the guesthouse all to ourselves. Everything you need is in the lobby of the guesthouse - hot and cold water, cups, saucers, and utensils. Staff is very helpful. Pool small, but clean. One setback - the A/C in our room was very noisy and it kept us up all night.

Summer is full rate, half service.
Agoda advertises "The service features boat safaris to Sumilon, Cabilao, and Balicasag where you can scuba dive, feel the summer breeze," During the Summer their dive boat was in dry dock. So we could not get to the advertised islands. There is only a small boat for very local dives. Wish we knew the truth before we booked or arrived. German run, great staff (except for the manager), good food, for the most part. Dinner Buffet is a little pricy, about $10 USD per person per meal. Great Burgers and fries available. Breakfast has eggs any way you want them, tea, coffee, toast and fruit. Sea view rooms and dive shop are a five minute walk from the restaurant. If you want a refreshment it is a ten minute round trip, with many muddy puddles to avoid. My wife slipped and fell once, very frustrating. Dive shop, gave a good briefing prior to the dive. The Dive Masters were great spotters and did find our lost dive light. We were very happy with them, Especially James, we can not say enough good things about him. The Pool water was warm enough, and the pool a good size. The Depth was comfortable. There is a nice waterfall there too. Beware dive prices and excursion prices (when you can find them), are in Euros. Food and room prices are in Pesos. The exchange rate is changed daily. We did not find their prices on Agoda. We did an excursion and we were not told the high price till after it was done. Nor were we told one was a 45 minute difficult climb, on rocky mountain trails, not marked, I stopped and waited for them to return when the guide (manager) made the wrong turn for third time. The Sea view room has a great view, and is large enough. Most other rooms by the pool are too close to the noisy National Highway. The showers just have Luke warm water, not a good thing. Decent WiFi in the Sea View rooms, but not at the restaurant. It was nice not to hear any roosters in the morning, I got to sleep in. The Resort is quite far from anything, so you will not be dini

When you're not a diver, you're out!
First of all: Tingko Beach and Alcoy are really not that interesting when you're not into diving. The finnish pair, who managed the resort (which is actually not a resort but a bunch of appartments at a cliffside of the ocean) was very friendly until the moment they noticed that we're not interested in diving. Since then we felt like outsider. Not cool, but okay. We nevertheless made some nice beach days, but wouldn't recommend a stay there that much.

Well-maintained facilities, professional service
The facilities are extremely well maintained so everything works & is clean. Local dive guides know their way around the reefs & know the marine life. Very friendly staff.
I found the place from Internet blogs and decided to give it a try. I aimed at scuba diving, and finally I did 16 dives (inc. 3 day trips) in two weeks. Local dive guides James + Ramel definitely know their work! Managers Teija + Niko adviced me on Cebu island sights outside Alcoy, and arranged the trips on request. Scuba courses are also available for those who wish to give it a try, so no prior experience in scuba is necessary to visit the place. The activities at the resort culminated daily to a buffet dinner (you won't go to bed hungry!) and the activities of the upcoming days were planned together with other divers/travellers and with management. This is not the cheapest resort on the island, but I consider the costs worth it. Alcoy itself is not renowned for nightlife or tourist attractions, but for those who manage a holiday with fewer tourist traps, the resort is worth checking out.

Cleanliness, privacy, easy to find
The rooms are in bungalow type so you pretty much have a little private villa.. Rooms are spacious, clean, airconditioned, with safety deposit box, clean toilet, with a swimming pool right outside and the bar/ restaurant a few steps away.. Friendly personel including the owner. Its a diving spot so don't expect a beautiful beach front area. But the water is clear. Best for diving!!

Expectations exceeded
the beach house, the companionship of the people there, snorkeling around the reef
We booked for two days in the attempt to have our first diving experience but it didn't happen due to time constrains. This would have made me disappointed but on the contrary it was nevertheless still a pleasant stay due to the very good accommodation and companionship from alex and the staff. Snorkeling around the house reef was already good enough for me. My favorite part of the stay is to have an early morning coffee at the common area while looking at the ocean or while waiting for the sun to rise. We felt so at home. The place is near the highway so its easy to catch a bus to oslob where you can watch the whales sharks or swim with them, the fare was about 60 pesos for a 45min drive. In addition you can also ride trikes, offered by locals, to tour around and see the waterfalls. Or better, have the trip arranged by alex for you. Since its far from the airport, i suggest you take a taxi form the airport to cebu south bus terminal where you will ride a ceres bus bound to bato/ oslob (Fare is about 150 pesos for AC buses) then drop by alcoy when you see the seahorse logo on your left. You can also contact the hotel for them to pick you up directly from the airport.
