Great location for a single night

location, staff
Clean rooms and bed, great location for Paddington and comfortable bed. No lift, so ask for not to be on 3rd or 4th floor if needed.

My booking was screwed up

Not sure as they transferred me to another hotel
I was surprised as the receptionist said that they don't have any available room for me in her hotel and hence transferred me to another hotel 5mins walk away! It is called St David Hotel. The room was soso, small but cosy. Nothing special. Location was pretty good though. The breakfast at this hotel made my day! It was an american breakfast and was very filling. The lady who prepared and served the food was very motherly and friendly.

Location, comfort, staff
Location is excellent. Multiple underground lines in the area. It's a busy place with lot's of stores, restaurants etc around. Room was clean enough. Properly renovated, spacious. My room was ensuite, no smoking (so it actually didn't smell like anything, thankfully), there was a closet, a desk , a window, a fridge and electric kettle. There are some amenities, but they're modest, so maybe bring your own showergel & shampoo. Shower is fine, I have no complaints, but keep in mind that it's a little on the small side (less than 70 cm^2-ish). The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Only things that weren't so great about the room: the bed was very small and wonky, about to fall apart. And wifi wasn't very strong. I asked the staff about it and he somehow got it fixed for the next morning. So that was good! (mind the caption on the wifi password) Wouldn't mind staying here again.

Cheap and cheerful

Noisy from trains, couldn't get wifi in my room otherwise cheap for London and did the job well

Best Location

we had great stay at dolphin inn for 4D3N. very strategic location. close to major attractions. unstable wifi, overall was awesome! will surely return back again.

lonely in the room - excellent outside

going out of theplace
to me it is serious as i paid for and expected a tv in my room - which there was - so i paid 10 pound deposit for remote control - only to find after i made three trips up and down to the top floor from reception trying to get tv to work - thinking it was the remote that was faulty when actually it was the tv that didnt work.i was there for 3 nights and had no tv and as i was on my own i was wanting relaxing nights in my room watching tv ! reception were very very unhelpful - not giving me any feedback - i had to go down and ask what was going on - said they couldnt move me to a different room with a working tv and were waiting on a part to arrive to fix the one in my room. i am planning another long weekend in london next month and would ve been happy to stay there again but considering the only thing they provide is a tv and that didnt work - i wont be rebooking - i cnt believe they have nothing in place for situations like that - if i hadnt been travelling on my own i wouldve been out in the evenings but as it was i didnt goout and had 3 terrible nights in the dolphin - customer care non existent once the moneys been paid they dont care !
