Great Location for views but can be noisy

Roof terrace, views over Luxor temple and the Nile, clean rooms, air con, pleasant staff
7
The staff were very helpful and friendly, accomodating early breakfasts, rooms were cleaned very well and the roof terrace is a great hot spot to catch the views and chill as the sun goes down over the Nile. Unfortunately there were building works going during my visit which took away some of the peace and the street noise took a lot of geting used to. I personally would not classify it a three star hotel. Some of the decor was a bit shabby but it was clean. If you want absolute peace and an early night this I would strongly consider going elsewhere. Otherwise this is a fine basic hotel and is very reasonable if you are on a tight budget and are not too fussy about the cosmetics of your room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: This hotel is close to the Soukes both for visitors and the locals own markets. Less than 10 minute walk to Luxor temple and almost immediately opposite the temple on the strips of shops I have to highlight a great little crystal shop called Zaglools.

Your average tourist hotel

Good air-con, mini fridge, good view of the nile
7.7
We like this hotel because it's close to the Luxor temple, and it's nearby to the souq for shopping and dining. The front staff seems friendly, using the agoda hotel coupon, check-in took less than a minute. Breakfast was fine, with a nice rooftop view of the nile in the morning. All in all, very average tourist hotel, recommended.
Restaurant Tip: Good cheap egyptian food just exit the hotel and turn left for a block, and you'll see a take away place with good Koshari and shwarma, pizza. All with good price. Al Zaheem is the name, if i recall correctly.

Our Stay in the Inn

Great location next to the souq, luxor temple and McDonalds. Washroom is clean and large overall the room was a great value for money.

A real nice value for money if you are staying in luxor. They have a reasonable breakfast and clean comfortable rooms. As well the location is great as you are right near luxor temple, the souq, nile and McDonalds (for a reliable meal ;). You will need to take a walk to Karnak temple or a taxi/carriage.

Perfect Location

Location, View, Price
7.7
The Emilio is a great place to stay if you're visiting Luxor. If you can get a room at the front of the building on the left side, you'll be able to see Luxor temple from your window. You'll also be able to catch sight of about 20 hot air balloons floating over the night at sunset each day. It's right at the intersection between the Tourist side of the market and the Local side of the market.
Shopping Tip: There's a fair trade store on the main road that runs in front of the hotel. Just start walking with Luxor temple on your right and look toward your left. You'll be heading in the direction of McDonalds, before you ever hit it you'll see the fair trade store. They have fixed prices, so they won't harass you to buy, and you can feel a little better knowing what your money is going towards.

Good Hotel Excellent Location

- Right next to the Luxor Temple - Everyone know the hotel - Clean rooms and with a hot of groups from reputable firms using it
8.7
This is a good hotel only minutes away from the railway station and smack right next to the Luxor Temple. They even have a camera focused on the temple, so you can see it from your TV. The hotel is clean and very decent with a good breakfast, which you can also buy for very cheap. It is actually cheaper and tastier to eat in the Hotel than eat outside
Restaurant Tip: Be very careful of the restaurants in Luxor as they are out to rip tourists, they charge a different rate for locals and tourist with rates almost double even for food for tourists. A tip is check the prices of dishes before ordering in a restaurant as the price keeps changing

Exellent hotel

Location, nice breakfast
9.7
We arrived at the hotel at 7:00 AM from a night train from Cairo and the hotel let us check in right away. The location of this hotel is exellent. Each room has a bacony. We can see the Nile and the Luxor Temple from our 5th floor bacony. There is a swimming pool on the top floor and this is also the place where they serve the free breakfast. You get a nice view on the rooftop level. The breakfast has variety of items including cook-to-order omelette. The room has comfortable bedding, a nice sized refrigerator. As a bonus, on our second day, the maid made animal shapes from the tower. It was a nice suprise.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Buy your bottle water at the market before heading out for sightseeing. Otherwise, you would pay 3 times at the site.

Close to Nile and Luxor Temple

Roof to has panoramic view of Nile, Luxor Temple, Mosques and city with pool and restaurant. Large variety on breakfast buffet - bread, pastries, eggs, vegetable, porridge, fruit, cold cuts, cheese, coffee, tea and juice. 5 minute walk to the train station. Comfortable bed with clean sheets. Came with fridge and codeable safe.

We stayed at 4 inexpensive hotels in Egypt and found Domina Inn Emilio Hotel Luxor to be the best of the bunch. It had the best breakfast and was easy to find. There were restaurants almost next door, small grocery stores nearby, and shop just up the street. We enjoyed our 3 nights and found the hotel staff to be efficient. Booking on the internet was easy.
Travel tip: Felucca rides are across the street, the night show for Luxor temple can be seen from the roof top of the Emilio hotel.

Domina Inn Emilio Hotel February 2010

The location is perfect. Walking distance from the train station (10 min.) and to the ferry to the west bank (5 min.). Right in the city center with 50 meters to the bazaar. The view from the roof terrace is amazing!
6.7
We arrived early in the morning and the reception gave us a room strait away but the room was of a very low standard. Since the toilet was broken we got a new room but still no window. The A/C didn't work and they never came to fix it. The shower curtain was broken and the TV didn't work. The bed where clean though and the fridge worked fine. The breakfast was ok with freshly made omelettes. The view from the roof terrace is amazing overlooking the Luxor Temple and the Nile. Considering the cost for the room you can't expect much more.

My experience at Hotel Emilio at Luxor

Location at town centre and close to Luxor temple and Nile Breakfast quality Cleanliness
10
It is a highly recommended hotel very centrally located and rather close to Luxor Temple, Railways station, The River Nile and the Bazar. There are some local restaurants close-by. Although the room was small but was very comfortable (with a balcony overlooking the street and the nearby River Nile). The breakfast was good. The hotel is only 7-minute walk to the Railways station which makes it very handy for someone who wants to walk to the station. The room was very clean and the bathroom was good and roomy. Overall I highly recommend this hotel which is an excellent value for money
