Electric Town, as people often refer to the area, is a local attraction, filled with streets selling electrical tools, micro-sized cameras, and rare gadgets. The hotel provides a quiet retreat from the fast-paced city of Tokyo, attracting customers from all over the world. Fully air conditioned and wheelchair accessible, the hotel features an on-site laundry service and a beautiful Japanese Sento Bath, a lantern lit bathing area for those in need of a little pampering. Dormy Inn Akihabara is a wise choice for those visiting Tokyo for the first time.

Good location for business hotel

Location of hotel is central. The staff helped store our luggage after we checked out.
5.7
This hotel is suitable for business travellers but too small for family stay. They are unable to accommodate an extra bed, so we had to pay for additional room. Wifi is weak or non-detectable in the rooms. Breakfast was tasteless. On the plus side, location is central and the staff helped secure our luggage from checkout time of 11am till 6pm (as we have a midnight flight out of Japan).

Dormy Inn

Distance from Akihabara Station, Staff performance, and Cleanliness

My stay was great being this was the first hotel I've ever stayed at in Japan. The staff was very accommodating even after I had checked out. They allowed me to leave my luggage and when I can back from shopping I was still allowed to use the guest lounge. It was raining and I had gotten maybe a 30m from the entrance and a gentleman from the hotel had chased me down to give me an umbrella. It was a very nice gesture and made my first stay memorable. I would stay again at the Dormy Inn at Akihabara.

Cleanliness, friendly staff, onsen

Great! I would definitely return to this hotel. The staff speak limited English, but they do try their best to explain everything to the best of their ability. Very clean and close to the subway station. Onsen was great too! Highly recommended.

Great place to stay in Tokyo

I only stayed overnight to catch a flight home. The hotel was easy to find. (Take Suihirocho Subway station Exit 3 and go straight till right before the overhead tracks (about 1 or 2 short blocks.) The hotel is on your right. Front desk is staffed 24/7. I asked the subway info desk where the hotel was, and they immediately knew it, and gave me a map with it clearly marked. It was easy to get to Tokyo Station (Subway to Kanda, switch to JR line to Tokyo, switch to AREX to Narita). Lots of switching, but one stop each, so not bad. (FYI: I didn't see an elevator at the subway station, so you have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs.) The room was small, but had everything needed. They even provide loungewear for the hotel environment. The onsen upstairs was lovely. Lots of natural woods and rocks. Shiseido bath products. I had the place to myself until I was ready to leave. I loved being able to soak outside, under the stars. Beware the sauna was brutal (set at 90 C). I had to walk a bit to find a place to eat, but not too far. Didn't have time to explore the area, but did notice that there's an artist mall/shops built under the tracks. Was too late to browse during my evening excursion. Will definitely book this hotel again.

overall good experience and would recommend to other travellers. charge 2000 yen/hour for late check out is quite unreasonable... bed is quite hard and not comfy
