Not bad

Location, English-speaking staff, Onsen

Free breakfast was not bad. Free wifi service was abit slow but not bad. Location is abit further from JR station but closer to downtown Sendai for shopping. The shampoo/conditioner and face wash was really nice at this hotel. The pillow was on the firmer side. They have a male-only onsen at this hotel and a unisex onsen that can be used at the annex hotel which is just a block away. They a provided lots of information about the hotel for my stay which was really helpful.

Super Low Price for Such a Great Hotel!!

The price, the location, and the friendly staff
9.7
My husband and I initially chose this hotel because it had the lowest price for our stay. We didn't expect much, but when we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was fantastic and had lots of choice for my vegetarian self and my meat-loving husband. After 9pm, complimentary ramen was served. This was very nice after a long night of sight-seeing. My husband and I also had massages at the hotel. They were very nicely priced and so pleasant after walking around as much as we did. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was right in the middle of the shopping district and we were able to walk to Sendai Station and Zuihoden (the Masamune mausoleum) from our hotel. Though we opted to not have our room cleaned, we were provided with fresh towels and lounge clothes (with the hotel logo--they were super comfortable, too!) each morning. We did not take advantage of this either, but the hotel also offers a laundry service and has a microwave for customer use. Right next door to the hotel is a Sunkus, which we visited often for snacks and drinks. All in all, my husband and I were beyond pleased with our experience. I definitely recommend the Dormy Inn to anyone travelling to Sendai.

Decent, centrally located, but small

Good location, English speaking staff
7
This hotel is close to Sendai Station and the underground shopping area. The main downsides are the size of the bed (a double was a little too small) and the tiny bathroom. The staff were nice. Parking is an extra 1300 yen per night. This is a simple hotel with no room service and the public bath is for men only, but female guests can use the public bath at the Dormy Inn Annex just down the road.

Nice and clean with good front desk staffs

Good location to go anywhere
6.3
I will come back again. Nothing perfect but I can see how much they try hard to make all better.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Easy to go and come from everywhere. Hotel has a car or taxi to send us to shuttle bus to airport. Good take care and concern the guests.

Stay at Hotel Dormy Inn, Sendai

Cleanly ness, location and eagerness of the staff to help.
6.7
Hotel location is excellent. It is difficult to communicate with hotel staff if you are coming from an English speaking country as in most of the Japan the medium of communication is still Japanese. Most Important tip: Dont take a smoking room if you are not a smoker. These floor are quite suffocating. Prefer to book a hotel upon your arrival in the city. U will get a better deal compare to the online one. Dont hesitate to take this step even in peak seasons.
Hotel Feature Tip: Use prepaid calling cards for ISD calls. It will be more cheaper than calling through hotel lines.

Hotel Review

1. Staffs try to be helpful which is very thankful.
6.3
The room is ok. However, the staff is unable to communicate in English and unable to explain things clearly. Plus, the hotel is not very convenience to find the hotel because it has too many branches and no service or helping in sending a bag to the correct branch.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: To travel in Sendai, you should carefully check the train schedule.
