The best business hotel we have stayed in Japan

Onsen, Confortable rooms, Free coffee, shuttle service, friendly staff , free Ramen noodle for supper, 10 minutes walk to the railway station.
Simply the best business hotel we have stayed in Japan. Fantastic Onsen, free coffee and great comfortable rooms (just be aware they tend to be small) Also there is a free ramen noodle supper after 9.30pm Staff don't speak English however they try hard. Unbelievable low rates for what you are getting. Will definitely stay here again if I get a chance to come back

Dormy Inn onsen

The rooms were comfortable with a wide, comfortable bed and a good pillow. The breakfast was excellent and highly appreciated. The staff was helpful and friendly and I loved the free coffee.
My only issue is with the onsen, the Japanese bath. In the pictures, it was beautiful. However, most of that was lost on me, a female traveler. Most of the space, the rock bordered large tub and large (in the picture at least) outdoor bath were for the men's bath on the top floor. The woman's bath was basically a "sento", a Japanese public bath. There was a big indoor tub, decent amenities, but the outdoor bath was one-person sized and one person hogged it the whole time. Same for the steam room. On the second floor, there was no view. The men's bath, at the top of the hotel, probably had that, too.

Good location- close to Niigata Stn.

Location, Convenience, Proximity to Stn.
Good overall. I arrived late in Niigata so I was thankful to have a hotel close to the train station.

Make sure to ask for a room with shower!

1) Breakfast is amazeballs. 2) Free ramen at night. 3) Close to the station
Close to train station, accommodating staff, and really AMAZING breakfast selection. English only speakers - the staff is very accommodating as you'd expect from Japanese service industry but speak almost no English. I think this is to be expected for a small Japanese business hotel. Luckily had a Japanese friend to translate for me when I unexpectedly found out that my room had NO SHOWER. They front desk staff found me another room, for only like $10 more per night with a shower, Japanese style with tatami mats and all. It was comfortable. The AC controls were all in Japanese so just had to keep pressing buttons until cool air came out. At one point I turned on the heater and I tried not to cry. All in all, a great place for business, just make sure it's a room with a private shower. I couldn't tell when I booked online.

Very good hot spring bath

Hot spring bath
It is quite a good experience I had heard a lot from friend about service and good hot spring bath As we are onsen lover and travel all over Japan for great Olsen experience I am quite impress about Ibsen in business hotel like this that can match conventional hot spring elsewhere

Lovely space but winter challenging

Onsen, price, location
This hotel was easy to find and staff helpful but spoke little english. I may not have stayed if I realized it was open air and winter temperatures were challenging because I had no choice but to use Onsen to bathe (my room option had no shower/tub). Had to wear my winter coat under the robe provided. The Onsen was nice but the women use the 2nd floor and the men use the roof. I imagine the men's is more scenic by viewing the pictures. I would like to visit Niigata again and would consider staying here in warmer weather.

Amazing value!

The three best things about this hotel were the price, the proximity to Niigata station (10 minute walk) and the complimentary onsen!
This hotel was way beyond our expectations! It's so close to the station and the bus (Willer Express) to Tokyo is right across the street. We read that there was an onsen at the hotel but we didn't realize how nice it would be! The women's sauna, however, is apparently not as nice as the men's sauna which is on the roof of the hotel. We didn't have the food here so I can't comment. However, everything else was really lovely.

Simple but good hotel

Onsen, location, self service laundry.
Have stayed in another dormy inn before, so I chose dormy inn again. Dormy inns provide small rooms but the room is adequate and the best thing is the hotel has onsen and also self-service laundry. Take note however that the map given by their website is not accurate; it's better to check your google map.
