Good Hotel, but be careful re the "included dinner

The staff, the cleanliness, the bathroom
Look this hotel is quite good. There was a lot of noise during our stay, but I think this was another guest upstairs. Was offered the "dinner included" option at a slightly higher price, which I took up. When we arrived we were informed straight away that this was only for one person in each paid for room. Thought this was odd, as that was not pointed out on booking, and after all breakfast was included at 2 per room. This made the dinner included option a less good deal, as it meant we really had to all dine there and pay US$10 per person for the extra person (this is the cost of the set menu). At this point I was not going to argue this, but did feel this should have been pointed out on booking. But as I say, a good hotel.........this is Myanmar so don't expect too much!

Nice hotel constructed from pine wood

Architectural style, gardens and mountain ambience
Arriving late in the evening, the staff appeared to be getting ready for bed, but checked us in quite quickly. The English language ability of the staff was not great, but enough to complete the check-in formalities. The hotel has no lift and given the high marks other reviewers gave it, I was somewhat disappointed after we arrived as it was the only hotel in all of Myanmar where the wifi/internet just didn't work (although my travelling companion claimed he was able to get his emails done downstairs in the lobby early morning); I was not, no matter how hard the staff tried, able to get even one website to load, neither in our room nor in the lobby. Breakfast was very mediocre, although we were the only guests who spent that night in the hotel and weren't necessarily expecting a buffet, but given that this was by far the most expensive hotel we booked during our stay in Myanmar, I think it wouldn't have been too much to ask for something a bit better than toast with margarine, jam, omelettes, fruit and sweet orange juice, and the cheapest tea and coffee. This hotel is worth at most 30,000 Kyat per night, yet you end up paying something like 100,000 Kyat. Not worth it in my opinion.

very pretty setup and furniture. great location and very good service!
it's was a very fantastic stay. Staffs were excellent in all ways. From good serving, counter services and always wearing a big smile. Don't bother about eating out. It's just ain't fresh as compared to what Dream mountain can cook and offer. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel!

Great new hotel

staff, food, room amenities
Fabulous. We were upgraded on arrival, beautiful balcony room. Very clean & great amenities-robes, extra blanket, water, etc. We suggested takes on the balcony would be nice & when we returned from our day out, we had a table! Restaurant was finished & opened on our 2nd day. Before that was room service or eat in the garden. Both nice. Great food. Best avocado salad. Super sweet staff; willing to do whatever they can for you, so helpful! Speak good english. Impressive room & hotel will be even more beautiful when completed.

Delightful hotel

Location, new hotel, friendly service
We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed the nicely decorated, clean and spaceous rooms, the personal service at breakfast and the magnificent view from the room and breakfast area. Would recommend everyone who goes to Kalaw to stay here.

Room with a view!

The deluxe rooms are better than most hotels luxury suites! The view was beautiful. The manager was very skilled at her job!
This was the best hotel we stayed at in Myanmar! You won't find a better balcony view in the country. They are just completing a new dining area; when it's done, this place will be flawless!
