The Paradise of Hippies Haven.

Food, location and room.
It was very pleasant staying in this hotel. Especially location is great to reach out Reilay beach and Pra Nang beach with a day walking distances. It has a beautiful mountain view from the swimming pool. But the only thing that unacceptable was sun-beds. They are too old and shabby its cover of plastic sheets are all worn out with holes so that the sponges inside spout water out when you sit on it. So disgusting. But good location to deli shop and a few hippie restaurants are in next door. Quiet and beautiful location for budget travellers. Also rock climbing cliffs are on this Ton Sai beach side and can enjoy watching this sports. The Ton Sai beach is just next to the most beautiful Reilay beach where the beach goers can be relaxed and swimming there.

Family with all ranges of kids and a 75 yr old gp

The location is awesome and horrible, beautiful but hard to reach, vibe is laid back but a bit grungy, great fun to watch the climbers and to learn to climb.
We are a big crew with four kids 8-17 and a grandpa in tow, age 75. We found a long tail boat at the beach to take us out for 800 baht, had to load heavy luggage on and off (not everyone headed my pack lite warning). Also climbing into the boat isn't easy on an old guy. The views from the long tail are amazing. On arriving our three superior rooms were upgraded to pool side, 'Thank you management! We loved that!' The pool was great as was breakfast (the best in our two weeks in Thailand). The service is great as well, picking us and our luggage up from beach. We were delighted by the monkeys that greeted us on the short ride to our resort. The cliffs around the resort are amazing! Breathtaking. The small shops and restaurants on the little road are good, for sure get the fruit smoothies to the left. The most amazing thing is getting to watch the amazing climbers who frequent this place doing their thing. Climbing the underside of the cliffs, not just vertically but horizontally. Thought only Spider-Man did that. My 8 year old was in a trance lying in the sand in the shade of the cliffs they were climbing. My 17 year old son and husband took the climbing lesson at the shack to the left of the entrance and loved it. Now my son is hoping to return to really learn this new sport. In the evening we were delighted to watch four base jumpers jump from the cliffs above the beach! It was amazing. All that said : this place is NOT for everyone. My father in law enjoyed the scenery but had a hard time with the amount of physical travel and the heat. As far as my children, they loved the place. So much to do. The most beautiful people I have ever seen are here, perfect physical specimens, all lean and cut from climbing and not eating anything maybe - made us feel like slobs but also gave us something to aim for. Hoping we can come back soon. Really clean and comfortable!

Sadly, The Dream Valley has gone bad

Location, Location, Location
We're mature climbers, so we want to be on Tonsai and we want comfort and are willing to pay for it. Dream Valley used to be a great deal with a well-run staff and management. Not anymore, they are clearly losing money and are going to go the way of the Dodo Bird as soon as that big resort opens up. The owners of this place truly are horrible people, to their staff and to their customers.

Expensive for what we got

Pool, good a/c, nice grounds
We're really not sure if we liked our stay or not. Our superior aircon room (a cement hut) seemed fine at first, but we had giant cockroaches in the bathroom. The staff killed them for us, but they left droppings all over the place and ants came in the next day to eat their guts. Further, the sink/mirror hadn't been properly cleaned in a very long time and I felt like I was brushing my teeth with the past 15 guests. The shower worked surprisingly well, even though the tiles are a bit gross. Also, the resort offers NO WIFI unless you buy something from their restaurant between 5-10pm which I find to be extremely lame and unacceptable considering how much one has to pay to stay there. We found the beach itself to be a bit isolating as almost everything is behind a rock wall and is under construction and everything is VERY EXPENSIVE so stock up before coming!!! Basically, the pool is what saved our experience at this place! But the mats on the lounge chairs around the pool are all rotted and half the chairs are broken and can no longer be placed in upright position.
