a bit run down
The rooms are very nice. But my room had a few defects. The pool area is kinda run down. Tattered mattresses on the poolbeds.

Could have been good
It just felt like they didnt want us there. No smiles upon arrival, first room had ratpoop in the beds, the second room had stains on the sheets and was dirty. It was a beautiful bungalow, it just felt neglected. When we wanted to order food they said it was closed. But when i showed them my clock and the sign that said it was open we got food anyhow. No smiles or apologies. It could have been a wonderful place, instead its just a place to sleep in the middle of nowhere. There is a "partystreet" where "everybody" is stoned. Okay if you like that sort of stuff i guess, but weird for us. And it was really hard to leave too. Dont go here if its your first time in Thailand. It could be soo much better with a smile and some effort.

Could be really fantastic
Is most likely the fanciest place you will find in Tonsai. The pool was nice to have, although not clean. Scum on the side of the pool walls and lots of dead bugs floating in it, but is great to cool off since the ocean is so rocky. It wasn't dirty enough that I didn't swim in it. No power from 1-4pm, didn't bother us. Rooms were a little dirty as well (some stains on sheets, stained towels, dirt smudges on walls) but since we are in a remote location this didn't bother us. Overall was nice. Nice gardens, trees, and flowers all around. Scenery from the pool is beautiful. Found most people in Thailand to be really friendly and welcoming. This was the complete opposite for most the staff here, especially the front desk staff. Food services staff was nice. We overheard a number of people talking at the pool/ at breakfast about getting sick during their stay after a couple of days here. Everyone in our group (who had been drinking only bottled water, and eating at variety of places) all got really sick as well with frequent vomiting and diarrhea. The only thing everyone had in common was having breakfast at Dream Valley Resort everyday. The uncleanliness didn't bother me at the time, but in hindsight was probably a good warning for what the conditions of the food preparation area might be as well. I wouldn't go back to Dream Valley due to this reason and the impolite staff members.

Best option around but not all that great
AC, pool, breakfast
The hotel is okay. Not horrible but not great for the price either. The beds weren't very comfortable but the rooms were descent and clean. The staff during the day were great but the ones in the evening a bit rude. The only really bad part was that they do not offer free wifi which for the cost of the accommodation it's somewhat unacceptable. Even the cheaper bungalows around have free wifi.

Helpful and friendly
We booked online before we got to tonsai, and booked their bungalow with AC. It was a nice room however we wanted to upgrade to a larger room near the pool. They showed is different options and we chose the best one that suited is. The rooms by the pool are the best you'll get on tonsai, they're awesome! Overall we were satisfied even with spending alittle bit more than we wanted
