The gardens, the helpfulness of the staff, room layout
I've stayed in all sorts of hotels over Indonesia. This was a very pleasant stay. I should say I had a deluxe room, but I found the facilities to be excellent. I've been staying in solo for two weeks before this and this was an indulgent, pleasant change. The room was beautifully appointed, I was treated to an afternoon snack delivered to my room, the Wifi was fast and reliable, there is hot water (most of the time), and the breakfast was lavish compared to the plain toast I get in solo. The location, in my opinion, is ideal. I prefer it to busyness of sosrowijoyo. Although prawirotaman is also busy with tourists, the hotel felt like an oasis with the beautiful gardens.

Relaxing duta

Location; comfort; cleanliness
We had a nice time at this nice and cozy hotel. Good breakfast, helpful staff and very nice swimming pool. Highly recommended, even for its position.

Good location but too expensive for what it is!

location, pool, staff
We booked a twin bedroom with one extra bed, which was almost as expensive as booking an additional room! The room was just big enough to fit the extra bed in but not nice or cosy at all. Very simple, not smelling too good, soap and shampoo provided but already used. If the room had been cheaper, I would say it's simple but it's cheap. the room is just way too expensive for what it is. Breakfast was quite nice though with fresh omelets and pancakes, fruits and some local dishes. The staff is friendly and it is easy to book tours and transport to Borobodur and Prambanan but they also gave our room key to another guest, so basically everybody can walk in and just state a room number in order to get the key - I doubt they would recognize...

Nice hotel, loud mosque

large room, nice pool, nice breakfast.
I had a room on the second floor - AC, hot water, large and clean room, comfortable bed, nicely outfitted and clean bathroom. The typical threadbare towels that you get in most Indonesian budget hotels, but that means they dry quickly. The pool is small but very pleasant. Good breakfast - eggs any style, pancakes, fruit, toast, juice (including guava juice that most people seemed to ignore, maybe because of its pink color, but which is actually delicious), tea/coffee, and a rotating menu of Indonesian food - one day just fried rice and fried noodles, another day soto ayam, and another day very tasty gudeg. The only downside was the loud morning call to prayer at 4:30 and again at 5:30, but it's hard to find a hotel in a Moslem area that won't have that problem. The wi-fi was slow (sometimes too slow for accessing my internet banking), and didn't always reach my room, so sometimes I had to go downstairs to connect, but at least there was, much of the time, access to email and the web.

Nice Enough

Location, nearby restaurants, price
It was nice enough, easy access to the airport with LOTS of great restaurants around the area that are all walking distance. There is some shopping though not much and there are plenty of tour places you can plan accordingly. also, there are plenty of people to take you anywhere you want to go so although you're not in the immediate central area, it's closer and still accessible.

Great pool, comfortable rooms

Rooms, pool, restaurants round the hotel
Stayed in room 25 for 3N and while there wasn't enough of the city to see over 3days, the hotel was very enjoyable. The Internet was a huge disappointment, as it was painfully slow but the wonderfully cooling pool made up for it. The shower water pressure was low but we had a shower curtain. The room had lots of ants and roaches but as soon as we informed the staff, the room was sprayed. The location is great, next to some good restaurants. While you can walk 40 minutes to arrive inside the walled city, we paid 10,000Rps for the pedal taxi to the Water Palace. They'll ask for a higher rate but if you tell them "no thanks, I'll walk", they quickly agree. The included breakfast was decent and consisted of an egg stall, fruits, noodles, breads jams, butter, tea and coffee. The room was relatively quiet and very comfortable.

lovely hotel but very little service

location, hotel design
This hotel is very nice, small and good value for money. If you stay there just 1 night you won't notice that there is no room service. Nobody comes to clean or at least to remove the rubbish. Breakfast is very Indonesian but you can ask for an omelet or a pancake. They also bring a cup of tea with a cake at around 4pm every day.
