cheap hotel

cheap hotel

It is a cheap hotel in a not so good location. It is a bit far from all the attractions in Macau. If you don't mind walking and want a cheap hotel, this is the place for you.

newly renovated and great location

newly renovated, 10 minutes walk to the historical place
6.3
the hotel is newly renovated, but the room has a weird smell i think most probably due to the humidity of the carpet of the floor. however, the hotel is within walking distance to the famous historical place and also it has restaurant nearby. suggestion: you can walk to the historical place at night, which is much prettier than daytime and it is not that hot. portugal tart is a must try food in Macau.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: you can take the shutter bus of Ponte 16 Casino if you wish to save the money of the taxi. this hotel is very near to hotel Ponte 16.

Average yet satisfying

It is walking distance going to Senado's Square and money changer shops.

Majority of the hotel staff looks young and looks like part time working college students. The more senior staff are not fluent in English so the young ones talked to us during check-in. There is a language barrier, though thats the case its bearable since its is part of thetraveling experience. Its is a few steps away from the main road. The lobby is small with free wifi. If youre planning to sneak in somebody it will be hard since the elevator is a couple of meters away from the receptiom area. The rooms are clean and standard. The hallway up to the rooms are carpeted with nice western interior decoration. There are no amenities like gym, wifi services ( thought the signal from the lobby reaches our room on the 4th floor), swimmimg pool and taxi service, which was acceptable since the only time we are in the hotel is when we sleep, take a bath. Most the activities in that area can be reached by walking.
Nightlife Tip: There is no night life in this area. You have to travel to New Macau to see the picturesque night lights, gamble in famous casinos and dine in cosmo restaurants. Traveling back and forth will cost about 120 Patacas.

is a budget hotel. two stars. hair dryer only provided when you ask for it, and can borrow for hour, is mean you need to return to hotel management after 1 hours. short walking distance to morning market. go further down after moning market is YiShiTing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: sofitel ponte 16 behind/nearby this hotel has free shuttle bus to 'kuan Chap' (if you plan to go Zhuhai). this is the nearest place you can take free shuttle bus.

east asia hotel is a great hotel with spacious room. even the toilet are clean and spacious. great location but hard to find. nearest famous hotel in the area are sofitel macau. the staff are great and know a little english.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: When you're going to visit different hotel like Venetian, Galaxy, City of Dreams, Winds, etc. All you have to do is look for their buses, its free and convenient. You can see their buses at Ferry Station.

Small rooms but great in-house restaurant

In-house dim sum restaurant, extra bedding/pillows, free hot tea
6.3
East Asia Hotel is about 5-10 minutes' walk from Largo de Senado. It's near the bus stop in front of Sofitel and is relatively easy to find once you've oriented yourself. It's also quite near Rua de Felicidade. The room was pretty small and nothing super special, really just a place to sleep. I loved the dim sum restaurant on the ground floor, which initially looked like just a small cafe, but opened up to reveal 3 floors inside. I don't think it's touristy at all, especially since we were the only non-Chinese people there (we were also probably the youngest). East Asia's har gow, siu mai, and cheong fan were quite good.
Restaurant Tip: Have a dim sum breakfast at the in-house restaurant for some authentic Cantonese cuisine.
