It was fine, the only problem was slow internet (bu that's the same anywhere in Burma)

Great location, overpriced room.

Location, pleasant staff, good bed.
6.7
Weak water in shower, not hot, poor drainage in shower. The location made this a decent stay.

Well located, good value, slightly quirky hotel.

Central downtown location, price and helpfulness of staff.

We really liked East Hotel and our room. Yes, the bathroom layout was unusual and a little tatty but that was all part of the charm. Beds were comfy, there was hot water and the wifi speed was better than many other places we stayed in Burma. The staff were professional and helpful and the cafe was a nice place to hang out when not out exploring. It's a good, far cheaper alternative to Traders which is literally across the street and frankly looked bland and impersonal by comparison. What was really great tho was the location - $3 and a short taxi ride to Shwedagon Pagoda, a 10 min walk to the market and a 10 min walk to the rail station. Sakura Tower is pretty much next door and there are coffee shops and an old fashioned teahouse nearby, plus Sule Pagoda.

Get the right room and you will be fine

The staff is very friendly; the location is second to none; If you get the right room you will enjoy space and city views.
6.3
If you get the right room, ending in 6 or 7 on any floor but the 10th, you will be happy and enjoy space and city views on the high floors. the hotel is in need of a complete renovation but the staff is nice and speaks good english. prices are "reasonable" but remember that you get what you pay for..

Central hotel. All hotels are expensive in Yangon.

Good location. Pleasant staff. Easy to find.

Beware there is no door on the bedroom toilet, otherwise the room is acceptable.

The hotel is in dire need of a complete renovation. Tje room on the 10th floor was very small, the bathroom was not in good shape with a shower offerin a trckle of water, no pressure at all.

Great location in the centre of Yangon

Centrally located in downtown Yangon, near to Sule Paya and the market. Near to great restaurants.
