Noisy timber flooring and totally zero wifi
I was stayed at the downstair room, the guests above my room is extremely noisy. I can't make a call from my room as it is totally no line, the wifi is flat, don't know what to do in the room.

Disappointed
Dusty room and the bathroom unable to provide basic functions. Leaking air-con without solution after complained, annoying leaking sound for all day long.

Pleasant Stay
Was impressed by the heritage mansion and its environment. Manned by great staff (Linda, Jass, Vijay, etc) and they made you feel so welcome with their hospitality. This is one of the great place to stay and rest, while at the same time experience the historical value of the establishment and Penang. The only disappointment which we had was, we have reserved Anista room but due to repair work required, we were given Cinnamon 2. But Linda and Jass made an effort for our last night by transferring us to the "smaller" Anista room and we really enjoyed the last night!

lovely boutique hotel
I'm in love with this beautiful boutique hotel. First off, the architecture and interior design tries to stay true to the original Chinese-Malay colonial era heritage. The environment inside is very tranquil and peaceful. You'll quickly forget that ur in the middle of the hustlin' & bustlin' George Town. The photos don't lie. Great location btw. Lastly the staff are super cool and friendly. Highly recommended!

Common areas amazing, rooms disappointing
The reviews of this place were what led us there for our anniversary. The common areas are a fantastic courtyard with great places to relax and the styling is perfect. But the room, although large was less amazing. The one wall was a giant old mirror that was 20 ft long and a bed that looks like it came from ikea. Because all the rooms face the courtyard, there is less privacy. They leave the windows open, which is nice, but people can see in or hear inside. The other option is to shut the wood slats and make it completely dark. The bathroom was nothing special. No major problems, but not what I expected. Also, no internet in the rooms, only common area. Perhaps other rooms were better, but I would avoid the first room on the left downstairs. Not the kind of privacy or elegance I was expecting considering the reviews and the occasion.
