fine stay with beach access

mid-June only a couple of rooms were occupied, and we were upgraded to a bungalow. inexpensive motor scooter rental available. no complaints. TV with lots of channels.

Very peaceful and quiet

Very nice, peaceful stay. We booked a standard room, but upon arrival opted to upgrade to a bungalow. The standard room is nice enough, but you have to walk to the back of the property (away from the ocean), up an outdoor staircase, and back along a long outdoor hallway, with a somewhat depressing view of the undeveloped property next door complete with trash, hanging laundry and a somewhat sickly look older pig, to reach your room's front door. That said, the bungalow we upgraded to had a very comfortable bed, clean linens, a very nice bathroom that was open to sky, and huge glass sliding doors that opened onto our own huge porch and the beautiful garden, with easy access to the pool and the beach. A few oddities - the TV (that we didn't turn on)is mounted high on the wall, so if you're sitting in bed (the only place to sit in the sparsely furnished room), it's completely blocked by the bed's canopy. Also, some slate tiles had fallen from the column supporting the roof over the balcony, which made the hotel feel slightly run down. Both easy fixes! All said, we would return to Amed (the only place we stayed in Bali that wasn't congested with traffic and tourists), and stay again at Bali Bhuana. Great price for a simple and beautiful beachfront retreat.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations on all levels. The location, beach front, staff, food, gardens, all were top notch. The bonus was the exceptional value.....best in Amed as far as I can tell. We wanted to keep this a secret and have it only for ourselves (we are returning the first opportunity we get). However, in fairness to the staff who encouraged us to share the awesomeness of Bali Bhuana I am letting you know that THIS is the place to stay while in Amed. It is perfect for those of you looking for a romantic, relaxing, tranquil yet adventurous vacation. Dive shop at front gate and ready availability to drivers makes it easy to be as active as you care to be.

Quiet and in beautiful garden area

Our stay was lperfect. No complaints! The food at the restaurant was good and cheap so we ate our meals there. We would definitely go back if we returned to Bali.
One dissappointment would be our surprise at the garbage on the beach and in the sea at Amed.

Nice and quite place, It's a good choice.
Good, big and clean room. Good nature view and direct access to private beach. It's a quite, peaceful and wonderful place.

We love it and will come back again but they need to do something about the bad WiFi/Internet connection there.

Right on the beach

We struggled to decide which bay in the Amed area - we wanted a nice beach and to be able to walk to restaurants without a treacherous walk uphill. This is the perfect bay! The snorkelling is great. There are plenty of places to eat.
Interesting pricing structure - top floor rooms same size as down stairs but little in them other than a bed.
Wouldn't recommend top floor rooms to families with toddlers or young children, or adults with knee problems. The steps are very steep with barely any barrier.
The wifi was good at the bar/restaurant area, less so at the rooms. Some people might consider visiting a nearby hotel for a drink and their wifi password.

The place was simply GREAT for the price you pay. Agreed- it is far away from Kuta beach- the place where most throng, but it is secluded and right on Amed coral beach. The staff are very courteous- the proof of the fact is that my 2 year daughter liked them so much, she ended up in their laps most of the time. The individual bungalows are the USP of this place- it has Wifi and has an in house restaurant. It is set in lots of greenery..... Highly recommended place- after all, who gets a slice of heaven at this price?
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is far away from major attractions, but if you want a secluded beautiful place and want your journey to attraction be amongst scenic roads- go stay at this place. The average cost to visit places from Kuta is around 5 million rupaiah and it is 6 milion from this place (avg) ....but the scenery en-route makes up for this :)

Nice bungalows right on the beach

I had a great time in this resort. Friendly atmosphere, easy to talk to the other guests. The first 2 days I stayed in a bungalow and have been very happy about it. Cozy and comfortable. The third night I had to move to a deluxe room which I did not like at all. It was too big with just a big bed and not much furniture otherwise. The bathroom is depressing, considering that it was newly built and for sure it cost them some money. So it would have to been easy to make sweet bathrooms, where you actually liked to take showers. I always hurried up to get out as quickly as possible. Luckily I could move back to a beach bungalow for my additional night. And there everything was perfect again. Just a few meters to the pool and beach. I enjoyed having a swim in the ocean at 6 in the morning. After that I could enjoy a decent breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Otherwise the food there did not attract to many guests. But the very plus about Bali Bhuana, all the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have been sad to leave and for sure will come back.
Restaurant Tip:
The favorite restaurant of me and my new found friends was Sails, just 1 km further up the road. They have a pick up service, but sometimes we liked to walk over the hills, when it was not so hot anymore. At nighttime it is not advisable to walk as it is very dark. Here there Phone Number for pick up and reservation, as it is always full: 036322006. You cannot find a better place in the area, we tried many places and can only recommend this one. At the end we went for lunch and dinner. Everything is just pleasant. The location a bit on the hill with a stunning view to the ocean. My first evening at full moon was just magic with the incredible scent of Jasmine flowers filling the restaurant. The food is fantastic, the kitchen is perfectly clean. And that is a real exception there.
On top of it the prices are so reasonable, the only place the do not add taxes and service charges. We even spent New Years Eve there and had a great time.
