10-12 minute car ride to Ao Nang. Dining options in Ao Nang are varied but you can't pull a 5 star restaurant from a 2 star town. Tat gallore for shopping - fakes abound.

Nakamanda is a very different property. I think its great for couples aiming to just relax, have a quiet time and aiming for solitude. Its not the right resort for those with young kids, as its a boutique property - lots of stairs to climb, limited food options, not much to do for small kids, small rooms. I don't fault the hotel for it, but my own research. The owner was very helpful when we asked him to change our room to one with sea view. So, a great hotel for couples, but would not recommend to those with small kids. Very nice, secluded beach with great sunset.

We enjoyed their spa so much, so spend two days in the spa. Walking along the beach is so relaxing and we love the little island in front of the resort. Staffs are very very friendly.

Scenery straight from paradise

We spent 5 nights in a Salsa Villa with a great sea view. The dining was really good, especially the Thai salads and the buffet breakfasts. All staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Book at the pool, Wut in the restaurant, and the lady who looked after our room. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel is set on the side of a hill, which makes it very picturesque, but this feature also means that there are lots of steps between Reception at the top, the Pool / Beach / Restaurant at the bottom and the rooms somewhere between. Also the sun lounge area could do with a bit more shade.
