5 Star Nature, 5 Star Price, 2 Star everything else
In short, your money will be much better spent at resorts in Thailand or Bali. The natural surrounding of the El Nido resorts is beautiful with crystal clear water, good snorkeling spots etc, however, the resorts are simply poorly maintained and managed. Now the details: (We stayed at the Water Loft cottage which has direct access to the ocean from the room) - Overall - inside of the cottage - clear signs of wear and tear, cheap building materials, lack of common sense in design. For example, the loft area has a great view of the ocean, however you cannot see it as the windows all have a matt protective layer that is not transparent. - Quality - bathroom is the worst of all. You feel like you are in a hostel's shower room. Simply off the charts below expectations when you consider the rooms go for USD 400+ per night. - Hygiene - almost every towel we had in the bathroom have stains on them. Same applies to every beach towel we have been handed on the island and during their snorkeling trips. - Safety - the rail on the staircase that leads from our room to the ocean is completely in shambles - the wood handle have completely rotted away, exposing the rusted metal, which is very dangerous if you have kids. - Service - our toilet was clogged one morning. When we called and asked for quick help since we were just waking up and really need to use the facility, we got no response for 20mins. When we called again, we were told we must wait until the technician finishes his breakfast before coming to help us. (Our cottage is a good 10 mins walk from the main building where the closest washroom is.). Thus in conclusion, there are much better choices in Coron if you still want to see Palawan, or in other island areas in Thailand.

A bit disappointed
We stayed in Apulit thinking we could explore the lagoons in El Nido 'cause this resort belongs to the El Nido Resorts. I should have researched more. But that's not the main reason why I was a disappointed. The room is a bit outdated. They should refurbish the rooms and add activities for the guests. The soap dispenser was broken and they should even put a coffee/tea making facilities. We were not able to explore the caves 'cause of the strong waves. Good thing they have very courteous and friendly staff to make up with what the hotel lacks. We will not stay here again 'cause there are other far better hotels at this price.

Close to Paradise
Amazing view from room, great snorkeling, all inclusive activities
I visited with my 2 sons,12 and 14. We were greeted at the dock with necklaces and cold drinks and singing. While they checked us in, we enjoyed our first buffet lunch. There were enough choices to keep everyone happy and the buffet-style dining was great for my two growing boys. When we got to our room the view was breathtaking, with the ocean right outside our balcony, beautiful blue and green water with other islands in the distance. We spotted black tip reef sharks swimming right below us.We stayed in the loft water cottage, and while it was clean and had a great view, the bathroom was quite basic, and the ground floor room was arranged quite strangely with just two single beds and a couple of tables stuck in. The bed upstairs was king sized and quite comfy and the room was very spacious. No wifi or tv, which was fine for us. The stairway leading down from the balcony to the water was not very well maintained and the water was filled with seaweed forests. It was gorgeous to look at from the balcony, though. The path was not well maintained, but on it we did see lots of huge monitor lizards and even a mouse deer. Snorkeling was great, with several gorgeous, huge reef sites all around the resort accessible right from the beach. Lots of giant clams, reef sharks, blue spotted rays, and we even spotted a sea turtle. All activities were included, which was nice. We went rappelling down the limestone cliffs-the guides took great care of us and we had an amazing time, not to mention the breathtaking views of the island from the top of the cliffs. We also went on an excursion to another beautiful island. Upon leaving we were serenaded again, and since it had been my son's birthday a few days earlier, they even sang him happy birthday and presented him with a gift- a souvenir t-shirt, which he loved. Overall, it was an amazing experience. If the resort grounds were better maintained and more attention was paid to the details it would be as close to perfect as you can get.

Exclusive island resort
The scenery, the food and activities
This is my 2nd visit to the resort. It is one of the rare occasion that we revisit a resort within a year. Prior to the visit, we emailed the reservation assistant to ensure a smooth journey to apulit island. However, there were a couple of hiccups including a part where no one pick us up for the transfer. The island is still as enchanting and charming as the past but noticeably it is getting increasingly crowded with more rooms being built. The staff are nice and friendly but they were not well coordinated and equipped to handle the large crowd. As compared to the previous year when there would be an activity coordinator to ensure that you maximize your time during your stay in the resort, this seems to be lacking this year for the guests. There were quite a couple of communication breakdown during our first day of stay at the resort. i.e. front desk mentioned the availability of a guide at 3.30pm but there were no one when we reached. Putting all these aside, the resort's food standard has increased over the year. The manager Ramir was also receptive to the feedback and did his best to bring back our smile. There was also an exceptional staff Benji who took many kind initiatives to make our day. Overall, Apulit still has a good standard of service. More activities such as cliff jumping are coming up. Do take careful note that many of the activities such as caving are seasonal. Do make sure you go to Apulit island during the right season if you want to do any specific activities.

Beautiful + Relaxing + Exciting Activities
Resort staff is outstanding. Lots of snorkeling in the island or nearby islands. Experience of staying in a cabin over the water is unique.
Excellent stay from beginning to end, needed our full 4 days to complete the many activities available.

Good memories, solid experience
Beach, Scenery, Activities
Looking back at my Apulit Island experience - the feeling is somewhat mixed. The resort itself is set at a mesmerising location, and some of the most beautiful memories will certainly be from there. When the sky is blue and the sun is shining, it is beyond beautiful. It is magical. I also loved the care and respect with which the resort treat the environment. The activities were also very engaging and fun to do during our 3 night stay. But, and it's a big but, the cabins are very small with the restrooms being downright uncomfortable. The 3 course dining is ok/ good, but do note that no beverages are included other than water - not even a morning cappuccino (which was always included in all our other hotels). And the road to get to the resort is not very easy. I would have let all of these minor quibbles go, if the room rate wasn't so high (and that's for off season). Again, a great resort and terrific memories - but unfortunately, not perfect.

A place to embrace nature
Wonderful location, perfect staffs and experience
Wonderful location which fishes are just one step of your room. Very nice and helpful staffs, so warm are they. Love this resorts included almost everything (no extra charge) from meals to activities like snorkeling. You are paying what you get. The only bad thing is the room is a bit smaller than expected, and specially... the washroom is un-acceptably small.

Great resort but overpriced for the service level
Private bay, activities, loft rooms
The little bay is beautiful and the setting is quite unreal, but we were let down based on what we were expecting. There are tons of staff, but it feels like they aren't picking up around the place or there to make sure the guests are comfortable. There were towels and things like dirty plates and drinks left around a lot for the amount of guests there. The rooms were beautifully set on the water. We loved all the activities available and used them a lot. The rappelling was awesome! The food is a buffet and gets pretty repetitive and isn't amazing. All in all it was a beautiful place and we had a great time but the place could use a little kick in the butt.
