The Emperor hotel has been recently refurbished and was good value for money compared to other hotels in the area. The beds were rather hard, catering for Chinese clientele. The staff were friendly and helpful.

An Average hotel just for a good nite sleep

Nothing was best
5
Nothing fantastic, an average hotel for sleep though its a newly refurbished room, only 1 chinese restaurant and 1 out-source chinese steam-boat restaurant, buffret breakfast was serviced in a function room with limited varieties, (we were stayed for 3 nites, can imaging how good its was having same kind of breakfast for 4 morning?), other hotel guess are mainly from Taiwan and Mainland China, shutter service from hotel to habour terminal runs every half an hour and last service end at 9.30pm from habour terminal. We need to take 3 taxi (6 persons with 8 pcs of luggaue ) from the terminal to the hotel cause we arrived just 5 minutes past 9.30pm.The hotel is old though they had renovated but overall still look old fashion and they have instrill a heavy artificial perfume spray in the hotel lobby. Surrounding the hotel, nothing much to look for and shop, lots of pawn shop, jewellery shop, chinese herbal/drugs store, not much variety restaurant, most of the restaurants operate by mainland Chinese from north east China, food was below average, you can"t find good and modern western food or even fast food in this area, but you can take a ten to fifteen mintues walks, there have better eateries and shopping, or walk further to the Taipa sightseeing area. Another way is take a free shutter service from these hotel to the habour terminal and change to the shutter provided by Hotel Venetian or Sand to Cotai Strip area, you can see a different character of Macao.
