Excellent Hospitality with little biasness
GRT Tuticorin stay entitled us for a room upgrade in GRT Chennai with a free 15 mins foot massage and complimentary drinks. In 5 days stay the buffet selection, the facilities such as swimming pool, gym, spa, room amnesties was truly reflecting the standard that GRT offers. The availability of security on most floors was comforting. The initiative taken by the staffs to perform flashmob dance in the lobby was entertaining. Overall thumbs up to GRT, the ambience and interior deco almost gives a 5 star experience. Only one observation as my feedback. Most staff members had been trained to greet the guest with a Namaste. In my 5 days stay, this greeting was consistent. In the same 5 days, my mother whom I have brought for a holiday here was not greeted with a single Namaste by the same staff members. Being an elderly person and coming from ethnic Indian background my mom felt disrespected. Such biasness defeats the very purpose of this practice of greeting.

A little disappointing
GRT. The name synonymous with any Singaporean travelling to Chennai. THE hotel to stay. But, my last stay there has perhaps exposed issues which most hotels face. Complacency. Most of the staff are great, no doubt. But the handful, who gives you a stare which either says; "is that a complaint sir" or "what do you want me to do about it". Actually a few friends stayed there on my insisting. They usually stay in Residency Towers. But I did not know the flood that once ravaged Chennai, has also rinsed away some of the unique characteristics of GRT. Qualm no. 1: The site (AGODA) kept promoting Business executive room. And at that cost, the deal seemed too good. And it was. That room (621) and another room my friend stayed (709) which was supposedly more costly, were identical in so many ways, you can't differentiate and justify the cost difference. Qualm no.2: On the first day, I gave feedback, the door to my room 621 was always slamming shut hard. Like when stepping out of the room to pick the newspaper, it would literally force you out. I gave this feedback twice, nothing was done. Qualm 3: The room my friend stayed (709), had issues with the fridge. After I made a rude remark that the previous manager Arun would never act so complacently towards guest feedback, only than did some technicians turned up at my friends room to switch the fridge. While removing the fridge, the turned the fridge and released a puddle of water onto my friend's shoe getting it fully soaked. Qualm 4: Booked a massage session for 4 pax. The booking manager told me he has slot for 3 pax and 6pm and another 1 more after one of the 3 pax is done. I told him we have dinner appointment at 730pm so is it possible to fix all 4 pax for the 6pm slot. He kept insisting the latter suggestion. I reiterated that if 3 of us went at 6pm (90mins) and the 4th pax came after that (another 90mins), we will miss our dinner appointment. To my amusement, he kept repeating what he was saying and not suggesting or

Nice hotel
Good hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Wide spread for buffet breakfast. Will recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had an excellent Spread. And the service was very prompt. Will definitely stay there again

VALUE FOR MONEY
VERY WELL LIT AND CLEAN HOTEL. ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS. SERVICES IS TOO FAST AND GOOD. STAFF IS VERY VERY WELCOMING. I USED THIS HOTEL FOR THE FIRST TIME, BUT I THINK IT IS A BFAND THAT SHOULD BE PROMOTED AND MARKETED MUCH MORE BY ITS OWNERS AND PROMOTERS AS IT IS ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS HAVE STAYED IN CHENNAI TILL NOW

Good hospitality and service
This hotel is located in the city area but far away from Marina beach and tourist attractions so it's not suitable for you who have holidays and prefer location closer to tourist attractions. It's only good for business hotel. When I checked into the room I have problem with TV program but the staff made it right after twice trying to fix it and finally it was fixed and I am glad. The hotel hospitality is good, all of the staffs were friendly and attentive.
