the hotel is very cheap and great value, except the room types. DONT PAY FOR ANY OTHER ROOM TYPES, JUST TAKE THE CHEAPEST, ITS THE SAME. THE OTHER ROOM JUST COSTS MORE BUT ITS ONLY A BIT BIGGER, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. JUST TAKE THE CHEAPEST ONE.

We have stayed at Moonlight Hotel a night before continuing our trip to other parts of Vietnam. This hotel was very lovely; the staff was friendly and helpful. They gave great advice on city day trip. It was also pleasant to have a sit at the lobby bar enjoying the cozy atmosphere and listening to music. We think that this hotel is really suitable for travelers. It is also near the city center and most of interesting sites of the city.
Restaurant Tip:
Tan Hai Van restaurant nearby has tasty Asian food.

i stayed at the moonlight hotel for two nights and booked anothe rooms for my parents.
i made my decision based on the recommendations of agoda and tripadvisor. both sites gave highly positive reviews of this hotel and i stand in agreement with these reviews.
the hotel itself is nice. i stayed in a superior room with a double bed in it. the room was large enough and had an in-room air conditioner. the room comes with a fridge – stocked with not-overpriced drinks. tv has enough channels to keep you interested. a shower with a bath tub and they give you basic toiletries and nice towels. plenty of storage space for clothes. most importantly they have an in room safe.
room is serviced daily and quickly. breakfast is included and it is ok. most importantly is the service level of the front desk staff and other support staff. the front desk attendants were very delightful and always helpful to me during my stay. everyone else in the hotel was always very nice and helpful. they could give you good advice for a simple day trip.
this hotel is close enough to the city center and as such has a very high convenience factor. many great restaurants close to the hotel.

One of the better hotel on the block

The hotel looks nice from the outside and it has a nice, spacious lobby. Many hotels of 3-star rating have only one elevator, this one has 2 and they are relatively fast.
I stayed in both superior and delux rooms. But I don't believe there are much differences as the room decor and size seem identical and the set up seems to be the same. The only big difference I found between the two types is the bed. The superior room either has 2 twin beds or the 2 twin beds that are pushed together to make one big "double" bed--which makes the superior room seems very small and cluttered. Whereas the delux room has one double bed which is a queen size bed ans is smaller than 2 twin beds pushing next to each other. If you want to stay here, you may want to book for a superior room and request for an upgrade (to pay extra) to a delux room if you don't like the superior room type.
Everything else is fine: sleepable bed, clean room, bright windows, ok breakfast, convenient location, helpful and professional staff, etc.
Overall I was satisfied with the hotel and would recommend this one. Have fun traveling.

it's a hotel suitable for sightseeing or short stay for business.
the location is good, closed to many tourist places. also, local food and famous dining places are easy to found just around the corner. and hotel itself is acceptable.

Oldish hotel/rooms and poor breakfast

Paper wall very humide and full of stains. Strong humudity smell in the room. Very dirty carpet/curtains and generally hotel facing a cleaning problem as we have asked several times to have our room and bathroom cleaned better but unfortunatly without success.
Breakfast very poor.

If one gets a room in the upper floors facing the back yard then the locataion of the hotel might be interesting otherwise better deals in Saigon are for sure available.
