Palace on ganges

Sijainti hotellilla on loistava. Henkilökunta on äärimmäisen mukavaa. Ilmeisesti hotellissa on myös hyvällä näkymällä olevia huoneita, mutta ainakaan itselläni ei käynyt tuuri ja näkymä oli suoraan seinään. Ilmastointi ei myöskään toimi ilman ongelmia johtuen sähkökatkoista alueella. Sängyt olivat kovia, mutta kaikkeen tottuu :). Ruoka hotellin kattobaarissa on todella hyvää joskin mitään liha ruokia ei ole saatavilla.
Hotelli on enemminkin 2 tähden hotelli, mutta sijainnin vuoksi tätä voi silti suositella.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Suoraan hotellin edessä on riksoja aina vapaana joten kyyti on helppo järjestää eri paikkoihin. Kannattaa myös ottaa taskulamppu mukaan, koska yölläkin on sähkökatkoja ja mm. katuvalot eivät välttämättä pala.

Great location but over priced

The hotel was quite nice, very clean and the rooms were of a good standard. The location was excellent only a short walk to Assi Ghat, although if you want to walk to main ghatt its about 30 minutes along the river or a 20 minute tuk tuk ride. I wopuld stay here for l i felt it was over priced. There are hotels with a better view, closer to the river and with much more atmosphere for less.

Good location to see Ganges and cultural activity

I am sure there are better hotels in this crowded city but the traffic here is insane and I could not imagine trying to get back and forth to the Ganges from a more remote location. This one is right on the ghat and the sights, sounds and smells were quite amazing. The street life here is fascinating but dirty and gritty. Be sure to take a boat ride at sunset for the nightly show. Amazing!

good location and rooms are clean. however much depends on what room you are in. Basement rooms are dark and dingy, and there is a room on the 1st floor that overlooks the lobby, and is therefore both not private and very noisy. Restaurant is average at best. better to stay at next door Ganges View if at all possible.

Good location, but cold and offstandish service

It's convenient to be able to arrive by car right or riksha right in front of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable with what you could hardly call a window, but where this hotel really lacks is quality of service. It's rare to find a hotel of this standing in India with such a cold and removed service.
My only guess it's that the hotel is always full and doesn't need to do any effort to feel their clients welcome.

perfect location at the boarder of the Ganges
at the ganges, easy to start your walk on the boulevard, close to Assi ghat with the daily ceremonies

Good hotel, food was good, location perfect if you really want to eperience the ganges and its ceremonies.
Tai arranged by hotel came far too late
The rooftop terras is great, but if you sit, you cannot see anything because the balustrade is too high, that is a pitty!
Personell is flexible, if you want, they move your breakfast to the rooftop terras, although it is officially not served there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ceremonies at assi Ghat, Crematorium at the ganges.Just go and sit there and watch everything going on there.

Good hotel and great service.

we arrived 5 hours before check in but they were able to sort us out. the room was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. location is excellent for exploring the ghatts and it was nice to use the roof garden to watch everything go on but not be in it! reception was able to sort out boat trips on the ganges, taxis and trips to sarnath. the staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. food was ok and the live music of an evening was a nice touch. all in all a good stay!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a trip Sarnath it is lovely and the gentle calmness is a breath of fresh air (literally) after Varanasi.

Hotel was ok, but nothing fancy. We were expecting a little bit more as hotel was promoted one of the best in Varanasi and some kind of cultural experience. Many of the services were not working at start (telephone, tv, hot water in shower, wifi, power cuts...).
Assi ghat is not the most lively ghat so if you want to be where the night ceremonies happen, go to more center.
