Great hotel, ok location

It was pretty good, the internet is a bit annoying as it only works on each password for 6 hours then you have to use another one so we were constantly having to go back downstairs to collect another username. it's probably not in the best location for backpackers - it's a decent 40-50 minute walk to the main train station, and then a 30 minute walk to the city centre, but there are regular buses that can take you to both./ The hotel itself is fantastic, clean rooms, spacious and a lovely balcony to have meals on, or to just relax, but a very small communal kitchen, not really useable for more than two people at a time. Great tourist attractions in Salzburg, and the staff were extremely helpful about organising things for us. Would recommend the Meininger if you're happy to walk when you're in Salzburg, which we were.

First I thought it was a youth hostel by seeing bunker 2 sets of 2 story beds but not a hotel. Second my feeling gets better because of the clean room, separate bath room and nice public kitchen. Its very inconvenient to get wifi pass code every hour.

if you just stay for a city trip or you need something for sleeping, the rates are reasonabl, rooms are clean and the young team is well educated and friendly.
Location is a bit outside the old town (walking distance appx 3 KM) Arround all necessary shops and supermarkets.
Parking fee for the garage is charges with EUR 11 but if you are there during the weekend, you easily can find many parking spots at the supermarket just in front of the hotel.
Breakfast buffet is charged with EUR 5,90/person and fully reasonable compare to a breakfast in other hotels/bakeries.
Wifi available and fast.
I would compare it with a kind of youth hotel, as there are many young travelers.
Our room was equiped with a comfortable twin bed and additional kids bed (bunk bed), parquet-floor and full tielded bath room.
