Austria Trend Beim Theresianum Hotel, Vienna

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel within the past few months. The same good features still remain; good location, clean and spacious rooms etc. Also this time around all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would easily recommend this hotel and have will be using it again in future.

Had booked business double for single use, but when arrived at 2.30pm told as I was alone would have to have a business single cause they full. I didnt have paperwork to hand so said I'd go and look at the room, it was not ready, a compact single ans looking on road at back, not garden as requested. Went back to reception which was very busy with check-ins, showed the older man my booking conformation and that I expected a double room not a single- he said there were none left ( at 2.40pm? when check in from 2!), got quite annoyed and fiddled around with the computer, eventually said in annoyed way " Oh have only got one very large room left, you better have that"", I said thanks and as walked away shouted after me "Its on the ground floor" everyone looked. I was stressed and not happy being made to feel uncomfortable. Anyway room was nice, but no trouser press or iron, I was going to the Opera and needed to iron clothes, they only offer Ironing service. No bar, No coffee shop, no way to get any drink unless you walk out of hotel down road to find cafe, love tea late at night but was stuck, Folk sit in reception area but doesnt feel welcoming as nothing to do, not even a drinks machine. Sunday morning went to find cafe for take away coffee, and other guests were asking me as I returned where did u find that. 15 euro for a small buffet not good value breakfast and promised afternoon tea/cake as per hotel website was never provided. I used to stay at Wien Classic and its older but comfy with friendly small bar/ coffee shop I will go there next time. This hotel clean, modern new business rooms, but thats it- if you simply want a room fine, but dont expect anything more.

A very nicely appointed large room with a fridge and large TV. Bathroom also large and with extras such as tissues and nail file. We opted not to have breakfast included but could have done so at 9 90 euros each. Looked to be a good variety of food though. An Aldi and another supermarket were over the road and quite a few cafes handy. About a 20 minute walk from the city centre but public transport was regular.
