A charming old Viennese building in a good central location, Austrotel Fuerst Metternich is the choice for budget travelers in the know. The neighborhood is very quiet and quite central, just around the corner from the main shopping street and many local cafes and restaurants. The Museum quarter and main attractions are a quick 15 minute walk or short bus ride away down the street. Modern and spacious rooms and suites have warm furnishings and light woods and are equipped with a range of amenities including internet access and satellite TV.

Good location - shopping, sightseeing; simple but good breakfast; very good bar - thousands of cocktails and whiskies, cozy. Small hotel located at the heart of Vienna, with a very friendly personnel, very clean, cozy and pleasant. We stayed there for a weekend and although the hotel was full, we did not have the feeling of the crowd, except on the Sunday late breakfast. The best about this place is the local American Bar. After a good dinner out in town, it is perfect for a night cap, in our case – we could not resist but do it several times – the cocktails menu is huge and the drinks are just perfect. The choice of whiskies is also unbelievable – these people are collectors and one can see brands one never heard before. Same is the situation with cigars – plenty of good choices.
What we did not like about the hotel – the rooms are not air conditioned, which during August – is not very pleasant. Also, the Internet can be only used by the reception, and there is no WiFi.
Overall, I must say that this is a good value for money choice!

House n) 47 a little viellotes which would need to be refreshed and modernized but adequate bedding. The Hotel Furst Metternich is a very good value for money for all those seeking a simple but comfortable accommodation in the heart of Vienna and want to visit the main attractions without wasting time in transportation. The Cuban American Bar underground "bar fly "is an attraction to see! The breakfasts are very generous and let you "hold" until the afternoon. A good choice but we do not regret.
