the stay itself is good, but few things were annoying, like the noise on the street till late night, as it is the main street of vienna (Kaertner strasse). Though not exactly hotel's fault, they can do better job of insulating the rooms

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old hotel which is located in the middle of the shopping area and close to the Opera House.
The staff were very helpful and friendly . In every way the hotel exceeded our expectations.

Great Location, Great Staff, Classic Feeling

i can't imagine a better location for visiting tourist sites in vienna. easy to run back to hotel at any moment for a break.
staff is smart and helpful, never a negative reply, managed all my requests including tourist questions and reservations for activities.
hotel has nice new bathrooms, yet retains that historical feeling in the public areas and in the rooms.
did not eat in hotel so not comments on food.

Lovely vintage hotel and great service

we enjoyed our stay in hotel astoria (but it can definitely do better with air conditioning). it is located very close to the opera house and albertina museum. also, 10mins walk to the stephenplatz and 30mins walk to the hofburg museum.
its in the middle of the karner strasse, the main shopping street (with h&m, zara and mango). alot of dining choices as well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We enjoyed the hofburg museum a lot! Its really packed with history and artefacts.

tho the location is fantastic the hotel is really old - the room has a stale smell n it doesn't make one feel at home. no aircon so can be quite warm on some summer days.
Hotel Feature Tip:
There's no electric kettle in the room so can't make any hot drinks.

Great location but a little tough in the summer
Located directly on the Ringstrasse, shopping restaurants right outside the doors, a few steps away to major sights

The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. Room was a decent size considering I wasn't staying in too much. Beware in the summer as there is no Air Conditioning, I was provided with a fan but hard to keep cool when it is hot out, I left the windows open.
Ideal location in the middle of all shopping and restaurants. About 2 blocks away (walking distance) to the State Opera house
Restaurant Tip:
Check out Medusa's Restaurant and Lounge located on the next block. Food and atmosphere was great!

VERY good location. not too far from anywhere!
Friendly staff, lovely hotel..gives you that old feeling of central/western europe..so close to everything, particularly the Australian Bar!

Was good. Being summer, wished there was air conditioning but they did provide us with a lovely fan that worked well.
Staff very helpful and friendly. And all the landmark buildings are nearby. look no further!

You can't beat the location - easy to public transport, shopping, restaurants and the important tourist/cultural landmarks. Unfortunately we traveled during a heat wave, and the city and hotel were not prepared for this. They gave us a small fan to move the air around, but it was really not comfortable in the heat. I would try it again in other seasons
Hotel Feature Tip:
If it's hot, ask for a fan. They won't think to give you one.
