Typical Hilton, not as good as expected.

We managed to book a room at Hilton for a good price, through the Internet.
Initially I was looking forward to our stay as it is my first time to stay in a Hilton hotel.
Upon arrival, we were given a smoking room on the 3rd floor. My husband requested for a change of room immediately but the receptionist was not helpful with it.
She claimed that a non-smoking room was not requested during time of booking, and they do not have a non- smoking room ready. She asked my husband to wait for another hour or so, for a non-smoking room to be available.
It was after 2pm when we checked in, and that made my husband very angry.
He told the receptionist that it is well past the normal check in time, so there is no reason that our room is not ready. We were in town for sightseeing so it is impossible to wait 1 hour for the room to be ready. Moreover, we have stated clearly that we want a non-smoking room in our booking. We have even printed out the booking document.
The receptionist then asked her supervisor to deal with my husband.
Her supervisor made a bet with my husband, where she gave us an upgrade but we must prove that the request was made during booking or we have to pay 40euros for the upgrade. My husband took up the bet and showed the printed copy of booking.
The room we got was spacious and comfortable.
However, there is no free wifi in the room, only in the lobby.
We did not have any meals in the hotel so could not comment on the food.
The hotel is also centrally located, steps away from the attractions and shopping street.
Overall, it would have been a great stay if the staff have been a little more friendlier.
Just as I've heard, Hilton serves you according to the money you pay.

The hotel is fine and well located for the fabulous centre of Antwerp. We didn't have breakfast included - but that was great, because it meant we could check out some of the great places in the city to get coffee...
The rooms themselves are nothing to write home about - but they were clean, large and with great showers.
Don't buy any water from the bar - a 1ltr bottle cost €8!

Too expensive, poor facilities

The hotel is located superb. However, the facilities are a bit poor. For example, internet is 15 euro's a day. I'd expect this to be inclusive for the price this hotel charges.
Moreover, our room was next to a departmentstore with trucks on- and offloading at 5a.m. Rather noisy.
Overal it was ok, but too expensive for what you get.

this hotel provided an escape from awful lodging elsewhere. We got a fabulous price and had two beautiful rooms for two nights and felt wonderful about it. It is right in the middle of old town so you walk right out the front door and you are in the midst of all the historical buildings, restaurants, and entertainment,

situated at the centre of antwerp, this hotel is just a stone-throw away from many of the best restaurants in town. ideal for family with children, couples and business travelers. there are also many shops nearby which are perfect for last-minute shoppers. the staff are friendly and helpful. the only downside is that it is not a very new hotel, though the rooms are still very spacious and comfortable. would definitely recommend to others.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were attended to immediately upon check-in. The hotel is immaculate, clean, well light, great buffet breakfast, comfortable.
Travel tip:
This hotel was great for business or pleasure.Close to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and staff who are extremely acommodating and helpful.

Very nice hotel if you are seeking the Hilton standard abroad but if you are looking for something typically flemish, I would try another hotel like chez Julien. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Internet access is very expensive, the parking is a mall parking and last, the fitness club is not exclusive for Hilton and charges a fee of 9€.
Hotel Feature Tip:
For the parking access, don't move to the Groenplaats but to Eiermaark street.
