Nice hotel, but a bit creepy atmosphere

Our stay at Jacobs was okay, although we had to pay 200 euro's deposit for the room. And in the end they charged us taxes, which was weird because the agoda-bill said: including all fees and taxes. The staff was a bit "scary", but in the end it was all okay. Breakfast was also ok, it would be nice if they'd played some music in the restaurant. So to be honest: hotel was ok, food ok, rooms ok, area and people a bit cold. Not so much to in Brugge. Bit boring.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Right near the marketplace there's this bar / pub where Frodo's doppelganger is serving big Zotte pints. When you are lucky his friend Klaplip's gonna be there too. Guaranteed fun!

Even the hotel is not so close from main attactions but Bruges is quite a small town, you can walk along and get to town with 10-15 minutes.
Staffs is nice. I have to leave early at the check out date to get the train and normally breakfast will serve at 8.30 but they ask their staff to come a bit early and have breakfast served at 8.15. Even it's just a bit ealier, but I was so impressed.

Nice hotel in a quiet surround

The room was reasonably clean. We stayed in the 3rd floor just below the attic level. As the floors were those wooden type, we were awaken one night in the middle of our sleep by some 'loud' residents who must have checked in very late that night. Otherwise the breakfast was tasty and ample and we get freshly baked/warm bread rolls every morning. Although the hotel is located about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the main attractions and the other end of the railway station, the taxi ride is not costly if you choose not to walk.

quite a far walk from the key attractions but still you can take a walk. staff was ok and willing to help when being asked. only confusion as the bathroom is not in the room. yet it's private, you need just to walk out of the room to use it.

The Jacob Hotel was run by a very friendly and helpful couple
and nothing was too much trouble for them to make your stay comfortable. In fact we had a very early train to catch on our final day and the Manager went to the trouble of preparing a breakfast tray for us the night before and brought it up before he went to bed so that we would have something to eat prior to being picked up by our early taxi. We felt that this was over and above anything that we could have expected and we were most grateful.
Hotel Feature Tip:
A very friendly and hospitable property well worth visiting - not as centerally located as some others but still good.

Jacobs Hotel offers great value for money, although the room was small, it was clean and modern. The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming and had a great buffet breakfast.

It is a friendly hotel to stay in. The rooms are small and the beds are just enough comfortable to have a good sleep. The bathroom is very clean. The breakfast room is very nice and the food is good. We rented bikes at the hotel and this was very convenient.
Restaurant Tip:
Before reserving or sitting down ask for special "rules" of the house like mandatory ordering of starter and main dish, minimum dishes a person can have, etc.

Lovely hotel, Great Location

The concierge was very helpful and told us where the shopping streets were and also not to eat in the market square as it is expensive. Only problem with the room is there wasn't a proper shower.
