Prague
The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague's beauty is undisputed. Famous for historic architecture that spans several eras, Prague is a city of endless photo opportunities, the buildings of the Old Town and Prague Castle particularly stunning. Prague Ruzyne International Airport is around 40 minutes by bus or car from Prague City Center, a trip that can also be made by tram.
Prague's Old Town dates back to the Middle Ages and features narrow cobblestone streets. The heart of the city is its town square, lined with dozens of restaurants, pubs and cafes and where thousands of tourists converge every day. Most of Prague's attractions are within easy walking distance of each other and its outer suburbs are easily accessed via an efficient network of trams and trains.
Accommodation in Prague ranges from the affordable to the lavish – the most centrally located are the hotels in Prague 1, where the Old Town and Prague Castle are situated. Hotels in Prague 2 are also convenient to the sights and can be considerably cheaper. Most city tours and meet-ups take place in the Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock and St. Vitus Cathedral are located.
New Town in Prague was constructed in the 14th century and houses boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes, with a large promenade leading up to the famous Wenceslas Square and National Museum. The Vltava River and the Charles Bridge are also must-see attractions in Prague, with many visitors opting to take a river tour.
