Atlantic Hotel, Prague

The hotel is well located close to the centre of Prague and close to a metro station (Namesti Republiky) as well as the new Palladium Shopping Centre. We arrived in Prague at the Praha Holesovice train station, from there we caught the red metro line (direction Haje) 2 stops to Florenc where we changed to the yellow line (direction Zlicin) and got out at the next stop, Namesti Republiky. This is a large underground station with multiple exits so keep an eye out for the exit for the Palladium shopping centre, this is the one you want. You may end up in the shopping centre but at least you’re heading in the right direction. The hotel is less than a 5-minute walk from the square along Na Porici, on the same side as the Palladium – there’s a tram line in this street also. Reception, the bar and free internet are located on the ground floor, the breakfast room on the ground floor also serves as a public restaurant at lunch time, access is via a back door near reception. The reception staff were always friendly, very knowledgeable and very courteous on all shifts. They go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant experience. We were there in the middle of winter and the heating was superb in our room, plus we were at the back of the hotel so heard no street noise. Our room was quite large by European standards, the bathroom was well appointed too, the room was serviced daily. There was also a free room safe. Furnishings were reasonably modern and in good condition. Breakfast was really quite good with a selection of both hot and cold dishes plus cereals, yogurts, juice, tea and coffee – it’s buffet style so don’t expect table service. There’s a nice bar on the ground floor that was always a pleasure to visit after a big day out. You can easily walk to all attractions from this hotel, or buy a 1 or 3-day public transport pass from reception and jump on the trams or metro to get around easier. Prague is a small city and can be easily covered by foot.
