This restored 1880's Art Nouveau building near the Old Town provides a romantic and comfortable base for strolling through Prague.
As the Tulip Inn Terminus Hotel's name suggests, this property is close to the city's main train terminal a short walk from several tram and metro stops and ten minutes on foot from Old Town Square. Renovated in 2003, all interiors are fresh and new oversized rooms with high ceilings and light modern hues creating calm and restful spaces, insulated from outside noise and with all new fixtures. Prague is easily traversable, from this point Wenceslas Square is a short walk away and the Gun Powder Tower a popular starting point for walking tours is just down the road. The hotel is located almost across from the railway station and all tourist points are within walking distance - if don't mind using your legs.
The surrounds are not very exiting, but then the
elevated highway gives you an easy in and out by car.
The hotel is an old one which has been nicely refurbished, the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable, though not very big, bathrooms are good. Breakfast was shown as not being included, however, on inquiring at reception the lady was rather put off and said: "but breakfast is ALWAYS included in our rates", and so it was. The breakfast room is rather plain, but the buffet is excellent. The only thing which put me off a bit was the charge for parking the car. The rate came to about 1 Euro per hour, there does not appear to be a daily rate. However, the parking lot is just across from the hotel under the overhead highway.
