1. Homely atmosphere
2. Friendliness of Reception staff
3. Overall cleanliness
4. Good location
5. Good, (if a little 'samey')breakfast
1. No Sky/ESPN television channels
2. Casual table in my room was broken (i.e. table top was not affixed to the legs and consequently wobbled permanently).
3. The quality of towels could have been better.
On arrival at the Hotel Tyl, my first impression was very favourable as I was greeted in a very friendly fashion by a gentleman at the reception desk. While working through the normal check-in formalities, I was immediately impressed by the well laid out lobby area, giving a feeling of 'being in a well furnished living room'- hence the overall impression of 'homeliness'.
When I got to my room, I was pleased to see that it was spacious, well furnished but lacked the provision of some niceties (e.g. pen and paper etc - mentioned only because I needed both when I arrived in the room). On switching on the TV (which was small), I was disapointed to discover that there was no Sky/ESPN channels.
Later, on taking a walk, I was very pleased that the hotel was located within minutes of Wenceslas Square and many other areas of interest. Yet later still, having taken a shower before retiring, I was disapointed with the quality of towels provided.
Breakfast the following morning (and subsequent mornings) was good.
Overall, I thought this hotel was really good and if some of the minor items referred to above can be 'tweeked', then it will be very definitely 'top class'.
