the hotel u ceske koruny is located rather far from the main touristic attractions of prague, but right next to the hotel there is a bus stop. one can get from there to the metro, and that resolves the sightseeing problem. the staff at the hotel is very helpful and we've got the timetables and information about the bus connections from the reception desk. it appears that getting back to the hotel late at night is not a problem, as there are night bus connections. the rooms at the hotel are good and clean, bathroom is equipped with a bathtub (rather small, but still usable). we've stayed at this hotel in winter, and it was nice and warm in the room and the bathroom.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
if you are traveling by car, it is very easy to reach karlstejn right from the hotel - just about 16 km. karlstejn is worth seeing it, as the castle is well preserved. the whole trip, including the excursion at the castle and eating at the local restaurant, took just a couple of hours.

a bit out of the way but pleasant

we decided at short notice to have a few days in prague but the city centre hotels were mega expensive. this hotel worked out at just over £ a night for a double room with breakfast. the room was clean but dated and quite small. although some distance from the city, the transport links are very efficient and easy to understand. as with all hotels the drinks were pricey, but there was a little bar about 100m up the road where we could drink at czeck prices.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
watch out for the scum scammers in the city offering good rates for money exchange. the notes are genuine - but they are not czeck currency. they are worthless russian roubles with a value which is a fraction of the czeck crown.

We stayed in this hotel for four days. It's clean, the staff is kind and helpful. It's a little bit far from the center, about 5 or 6 km., but you can reach the center in about 20-30 min. with bus and metro. The value for money is very good (40 euros for 3 persons. Breakfast is simple but rich.

the hotel is located quite far away from the main sightseeing points in prague (takes around 50 min to reach prague old town square). the interior of the hotel is rather old and no elevators. i and my friends stayed in the 3rd floor with nearly 20 kg baggage. too tired for a small women!

convenient when you want to leave in the morning and to come back late. the hotel is far from the city centre so you cannot just hop off and on whenever you like as it takes quite a while to get anywhere but if you are happy to stay out all day and to return before midnight prague public transport will bring you home without any problems.
continental breakfast was ok we had no chance to try any other inhouse food.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good place for mountain bikers - interesting places can be reached easily.

hôtel norme local . chambre petite mais propre ainsi que la salle de bain et les toilettes. buffet petit déjeuner copieux.personnel aimable et souriant. facile d accès grâce aux transports en commun.je recommande cet hôtel pour pour son prix très intéressant personnel souriant .nous y étions que le soir pour dormir donc inutile de payer plus cher .
Travel tip:
facile de se déplacer a Prague avec les transports en commun et l office du tourisme qui donne des cartes détaillées de tout ce qu' il y a a voir.

Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, nur die Matratzen recht hart. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, Verständigung nur in Englisch. Es ist zwar etwas abgelegen, aber man ist mit Bus und Metro in einer halben Stunde in der Stadt. Für den Preis würden wir auf jeden Fall nochmals hinfahren.
