This hotel, built in 1885 and fully renovated in 2007/2008, has comfortable rooms, great transport connections and offers great value for money. The Ansgar Hotel in Copenhagen is only a three minute walk from the central railway station. From there, the train to the airport takes only ten minutes. The hotel has modern, well equipped rooms and very clean bathrooms, with flat screen LCD TVs and internet access in all rooms. The in-house restaurant serves an excellent breakfast, in summer in the pretty court yard, and Tivoli Gardens and the historic city center are within easy walking distance.

Tiny room, useless elevator
The Asgar Hotel in Copenhagen is fronted as a three star hotel. I would question this rating, as it physically has less to offer than a Motel 6 room in the United States. Specifically, the rooms are postage stamp size and the "double bed" could have fooled me. It is practically impossible to get to the bathroom without tripping over something. The elevator is one half storey out of phase with the room floors, rendering it pretty much useless unless you're staying at least four floors up.
Now for the good stuff. The staff is terrific. They are multilingual and do everything they can to be helpful. The location is very good. The breakfast room is cheery, and the breakfast is more than adequate. .
Restaurant Tip : Riz Raz Restaurant serves an excellent mideastern buffet at a reasonable price, something hard to find in Copenhagen. It is in easy walking distance of the Hotel.
