Slightly expensive but pleasant stay

The claim that this is "Located on a manmade island in Copenhagen harbor" is a bit misleading - it's on a plot of reclaimed land separated from the dockside by a channel about five metres wide. You're not getting a unique view from an island far out in the river or anything like that. However, otherwise the description is very accurate: This is a very modern, well-designed and well-appointed hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms were a good size, although be aware that to get a harbour view, you would need to book a superior room.
The location is okay - it's an area that's being redeveloped and there isn't much locally except other hotels, offices and a reasonable shopping mall (Fisketorvet) next to the hotel. But it's about only 15-20 minutes walk from the centre, or about five minutes by the light rail S-train service. The local station is Dybbølsbro - it's the first stop on the line out of central station, trains run every five minutes or so and once you come up the stairs from the station and turn left, you can see the hotel - it's about two minutes walk.
Overall, a decent hotel. It is a bit expensive for what it is, but all central Copenhagen hotels seem to be.
Restaurant Tip:
For a restaurant serving traditional Danish food, Puk in the city centre was very good and reasonably priced. The street is Vandkunsten, although on many small tourist maps it isn't individually labelled - it follows on from Løngangstræde, which usually is.

Nice hotel with perfect view

A very beautiful hotel, with a cinema and shopping mall next to it. The waterfront is a beautiful sight. With parties on Fridays and Saturdays. The only bad thing is the distance to the city centre is too far away...
After 5pm or 6pm, most shops are closed.. And they open from10-11am. So the weekday nights can be quite quiet...

Wonderful hotel and comfortable room. Unfortunately horrible mannens with The receptionists. That is fine with smilesss and cold attitude, the worse part is when they act like they own the hotel. They are so high and mighty. Especially the bald one!

This is the third stay at the hotel and its getting better ane better. Nice and helpful personnel, location of the hotel is good and its near to nice walks around the harbour,

Great Moden hotel in a good location, A bit of a walk to central Copenhagen but that can be along the waters edge witch makes it enjoyable. Rooms were very good,clean and moden.
Staff were excellent. If we ever went back to Copenhagen we would stay a this hotel.

A brand new hotel with excellent Design, lots of air in the uilding and rooms with a great taste of normal luxury. Rooms with the harbourview is recommended.
Shopping Tip:
Outside the door is a shopping mall and a ig cinema. Close to the trams an bus station. Only 15 minutes walk to the train station

the hotel is quite new and boasts modern, scandinavian design, which is clear in furniture, building and decorations. nice, clean atmosphere everywhere in the hotel.
the rooms are a bit small but generally good and functional with a nice bathroom although the beds are to the soft side. rooms on one side of the hotel offer a clear view of the harbor area.

Overall, worth a return trip. The hotel was good to look at and stay in, and the rooms, though small, were very acceptable. the location, next to the waterside and a big shopping centre, whilst only a mile from the centre of the city's main nightlife, was pretty good. Worth a trip in summer to make more use of the waterside setting.

Beautiful hotel. Seriously impressed at both the exterior and interior. Views from the restaurant were beautiful. The walk from the back of the hotel along the harbour is beautiful.
Food in the hotel is very good, but a limited selection so not really suitable for fussy eaters. Quality of the food was fantastic, and breakfast selection is also great, offering an amazing array of breads,pastries,meats,fruit etc.
Beds were super comfy with lovely toppers and snuggly duvets. Rooms were well equipped, however I would advise to book a room with a harbour view. Our room was on the other side of the hotel, and in retrospect we should have booked a harbour view room, well worth it for the view.
The hotel is a pleasant 15 minutes walk to Tivoli and Central Station, and approximately 20 to the city centre.
I would highly recommend the Island Hotel to anyone making a visit to Copenhagen and I would definitely stay there again should I return to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen island hotel

My children and I had a pretty good stay here. Apart from the rain when we arrived, the next few days were rather sunny most of the time. During the first day we all got a bit wet because there was no cover going to to Mall next door. I also found the beds too soft and my body ached the next day. Not too good for the older generation I'm afraid! However, my kids were fine. The Hotel is rather convenient as it's quite near the train and once you've worked out how to get tickets from the self vending machine, it's only 1 stop into town. Some staff members were very helpful and some were rather distant but overall, we would still recommend staying there.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a restaurant selling very good Sharwarma( meat wraps) and a Thai restaurant worth exploring in the Mall next door. Also if you have to try the sausages sold by vendors on the road side or squares, they are very very good.
