Wasn't a good stay at first night as the heater not really working at the -2 degree celsius. Second night was warmer as hotel given a heater as heater.
The advantages of Grand Hotel is near to city center and the railway station. Besides that, the hotel are surrounded with restaurant and boutique.

The hotel is very well located next to the train station.
You have lot of restaurants, banks, forex located nearby. also the staff is freindly and they have a nice italian restaurant within the hotel.

Excelllently located hotel with character

Hotel is situated next to the main railway station , from the airport don't go to the metro , take the train to central station , trip takes 10 minutes . From the main station entrance turn left , the hotel is about 200 metres away .Rooms are functional , but not luxurious . Staff both friendly and extremely helpful . Breakfast was great , both in terms of quality and quantity .Copenhagen is a very expensive city , and on that basis this hotel represents good value. Very near the Tivoli Gardens .Free internet access and newspapers were a pleasant bonus.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There is a visitors centre on the street , opposite the Tivoli entrance. The centre has a wealth of information , and provides a list of free places to visit , which was extremely useful . They also have a superb cafe selling delicious baguettes . Also try the Pizza bar in the Astoria Hotel , next to the Grand , and a Turkish restaurant called Ankara , about 200 metres to the left of the hotel entrance . Both are great value , especially if you have the buffet , and the food in both is very good.

I like the location and the brakfast very much. The room is cleanness but small and also I smell some smoke during the walking path in fron of my room even my room located in no smoking floor.

Central but runned down hotel

We spent a nice weekend in central Copenhagen at the Grand Hotel. Location of the hotel was perfect for us as we wanted to be near good shopping areas, good restaurants and nightlife.

Small room but great location

I have to say the room was pretty small, smaller than my expectation, and the interior, especially in the bathroom, was really old looking, everything worked ok though.
Other than that, the breakfast was nice and you will not find a better location for a hotel in Copenhagen. 3 minute walk to the central Train Station, 5 minute walk to Tivoli Garden (amusement park) 10 minute walk to City Square (City Hall) and the famous pedestrian shopping street "Strøget". Lots of tourist attractions within walking distance.

Room had been refurbished. Bathroom was lovely.
Curtains had started to come off tracks and had not been fixed. Made the room look a bit neglected.

Location/very near main train station. Well kept. Clean. Easy access to city.

My stay was easy, arriving by train from the international airport. Staff was competent and friendly. Location was excellent, and room was in good order, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was small with the shower in the center of the room (no separate stall), but it was clean and very functional. I would certainly stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
Wagamama's is near by.

Not So Grand Anymore

My stay at the Grand hotel was a business trip and whilst I thought the location was great and the building itself looked very Grand the stay was very disappointing. Riught from when you enter the hotel you get the feeling of very old fashioned and under invested, the reception area was small and crowded and on first impressions I wish I had paid a bit extra and gone somewhere else. On entering my room my heart sank as it looked and smelt like a prison cell, the decor was very poor and old fashioned and looked like it belonged in a museum. The bathroom was sparse and cold and the shower only gave out a light drizzle of tepid water, the bed was comfartable but again when I woke the n est morning I felt I was in jail. If you like a reasonable amount of luxury when you stay in hotels then avoid this place as it delivers nothin g and is very poor value for money.

Avoid staying here at all costs

In a nutshell, this hotel is dirty and unclean. The nonsmoking room I was given reeked like smoke, and the supposedly nonsmoking floor smelled like fresh smoke every day of my stay. I was given another room after I complained, but it was obvious that it hadnt been cleaned it some time - the tables were dusty, and the showerhead had so much grime on it that it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months, The room was tiny - hardly enough room for two people and their suitcases. If I hadnt prepaid, I would have canceled my stay and looked for another hotel. Do not stay here.
