old and small, but beautiful hotel

Really small room and the window was around the corner. The stairs upstairs are really narrow and no lift. No parking.
Location is perfect, everything is close to the hotel.

An very old hotel
This hotel is located at the centre of the Old Town Tallinn.

The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. My husband and I were first offered a room on the Ground Floor with a window facing the street. We couldn't open the window because of security, however, it was so hot within the room even we were provided a small fan. The staff was so kind and he exchanged another room on the 3rd Floor to us.
If I visit the beautiful Tallin again, I will not live in this hotel unless they provide air-conditioned rooms.

Very old hotel but charm

this is my second time i visit st olav hotel. it is placed in the old town of tallinn. it is very closed to restaurants and bars f ex to the market. the hotel is in a very old building, 400 years old, but the rooms are quite confortable but maybe small.

Great location for old city, quirky and fun

This hotel represents great value for money and is to be recommended. The reception service is standard Russian-style brusque and unfriendly but what is requested is done. The ability for the staff to make the guest feel unwelcome is well practiced, however if you can overcome this initial surprise then it becomes just a little amusing, a bit like the John Cleese TV series Faulty Towers.
All told a comfortable and rewarding experience.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The walk uphill from the ferry wharf to the hotel will take about 20 minutes and is not easy. Get a taxi and have a copy of the hotel address in your pocket otherwise you will end up at the Church St Olav's at the other end of the old city.

Excellent location, nice room, good price

The old city of Tallinn is surprisingly large and worth a day trip from Helsinki. We left our main suitcases in the hotel in Helsinki in which we stayed at either end of our trip to Tallinn and walked from the Lindaline dock to the hotel (about 15 min). The hotel was perfectly placed and one of the fun places we've stayed in. A bunch of old buildings were renovated and interconnected, so walking to our room was a kick. The room was large enough and very quiet--good beds and good showers. All in all, this helped make it a memorable 24 hr in Tallinn.

Prefectly located in Old City of Tallinn

This relatively small hotel is located in an old converted merchants house where you can feel the history of the city.
Fantastic rooms have incorporated period features and retain the character of Europe from the 17th/18th century. Nevetheless the hotel has been updated to be equipped with all modern feature required.
Ideal location for browsing in the old town of Tallinn.

Despite the relocation, the other hotel was 200 m away and provided similar services. Room was, of course, upgraded and had also sauna there!
Restaurant Tip:
Check out nice Indian restaurant, Elevant, either in the inner court or upper floor of Vene 5. Very delicious and probably the best Indian restaurant in the Baltics or Scandinavia!
