good hotel, but far from the city center

I visited the place during December. It was cold and snowy all times. I should have stayed in a palce closer ti the city centre

Relaxing and beatiful location, luxurious
serene location, food, interior
9.7
At first we had some trouble since the Hotel couldn't find our booking. I've stayed at this Hotel numerous time and I was utterly surprised by one of their staff member's reluctant attitude and unwillingness to solve our situation. She only offered to sell us a new room although we already had paid in andvance... Buuut, after a phone call to Agoda, everything was solved and we got to spend our night at the beautiful location right next to the shoreline. Let me repeat: I've never had any troubles at all while staying in this hotel... Things happen, it can't be helped.
Allthough this hotel is a bit far away from the city centrum, public transportation is extremely good. Just hop on the tram tain (it's fairly easy, cause only 2 different numbers go there). If you wish to enjoy outdoors, idyllic location, luxury with affordable price and good customer service, this is your choice.

This hotel is everything you want from a hotel.
Nice rooms, nice location, quiet, good breakfast.
9.7
Have stayed in several hotels recently but as total experience this is definitely the best. Decently priced but very comfortable. Location off from the city center but in a very nice place. Nice staff, loads of free parking. Ordinary rooms nice, the honeymoon suite definitely moneys worth if you need something a bit special. Good breakfast.

Nice hotel but the facilities are rather lacking
modern stylish rooms, nice views to be found in the surrounding areas
8.3
initial impressions of the hotel are good, with a large open reception area with friendly smiling staff.
throughout my stay staff service remained consistently high.
however, whilst the hotel has a swimming pool the opening hours are restricted to certain hours in the morning and the evening.
furthermore during breakfast service the dining area has insufficient seating which resulted in residents being forced to use the seating in the bar area which was inappropriate for the purpose.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
if time allows for it, and you have an interest in historical sites a visit to suomenlinna island is a must.

Hilton Standard, Great Value
Periphery of Helsinki City Centre - Best of Both Worlds
9.3
We were apprehensive booking there. Having booked it, we made no mistake. The hotel although in the periphery has a direct tram within 50 m taking you to the city centre in 20 mins. So, the city is accessible without having to pay exorbitant rates for a quality room.
The hotel is based on the waterfront so the location is a real beauty. The neighbourhood is very quiet residential area (giving us a peek into everyday life of Hensinkians.)
The rooms were large, the bathrooms even still. Since we booked in a super-saver plan, we did not get the lake facing rooms :-(
The gym was average but the area is so beautiful that it is better to walk or a jog down the sea/lake every day.
The breakfast was great in spread and quality and service standards better than other Hilton properties i have been to. The espresso could be better but pretty much everything else was in excellent shape.
Great stay! Full credit to the management.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Tram 4T takes you right upto the ferry points through most of the city centre every 20-25 mins or so.
A jog around the hotel is a must. Don't miss it. There is a mystic sense about the place making it very attractive.

Warm and cosy hotel to relax
Friendly staff, Comfortable place
7.3
this hotel is really comfortable to stay as far as you don't mind staying away from town. even the closest tram requires 5-minute walk, so getting on the tram with suitcases would be difficult. apart from that, everything was nice here.

Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa Hotel
Pickled fish for breakfast

this is a perfectly ok, functional hotel to stay in if on business in helsinki. it is at the end of one of the tram lines so an easy commute into the centre of the city where it will cost more to stay. nothing to get too excited about though.

Great value for money
location, proximity to centre, restaurant, free parking
9.7
the excellent service, top quality restaurant and location of this hotel made our stay memorable and we will remain loyal customers from now on. while the hotel is a few kilometres from the city centre, the excellent tram system of helsinki is only steps away. the surrounding neighbourhood is the upscale munkkiniemi which provides wonderful parks and great sea views. the rooms are well kept and modern and the breakfast buffet is unbeatable, if your package does not include breakfast it's worth paying extra. an added bonus is the free parking, which you would not find in central helsinki and saves a lot of money.
