Set in a beautifully converted brick faced harbor warehouse from 1912, this stylish and comfortable hotel is only five minutes from the city center. The hotel is next to the Marina Congress center and the ferry terminal and within easy walking distance of Market Square and the Cathedral. The nearest tram stop is only two blocks away. The Scandic Grand Marina Hotel in Helsinki has large rooms with wooden floors, contemporary design and original features, generous bathrooms, satellite TV and free high speed internet access. The Makasiini Restaurant and Key West Pub serve excellent Finnish and international food including a great breakfast in front of panoramic harbor views and leisure options include a gym and two saunas.

I was a return guest to the Scandic Grand Marina becuase it is a nice hotel in a very convenient location and a very helpful staff, especially if you are baffled by the Finnish language as I am.

The rooms are very nice but a bit spartan for the hotel's level of rating. However, that is very Scandanavian

The hotel is located a block from the waterfront and close to many of the historical and religious sites that tourists usually take in. There are excellent shopping and a wide variety of restuarants very close also. There are always taxi's in front of the hotel and the public transit is close and direct to such places as the main railway and bus stations. A large and excellent breakfast has been included in each of my stays and I believe it is standard.

Travel tip : The ferries to the beautiful walled city of Tallinn depart a short walk from the front door of the hotel.
