The restaurant was excellent. The practice of charging for the use of the Wi-Fi system ranks right up there with pay toilets. The other major complaint, is the arrangement of the front door and front gate to the street. It is very difficult to get in and out of the hotel if using a taxi. For anyone not in perfect physical shape, it becomes almost impossible to handle any baggage larger than a brief case. The location is not convenient to anything. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. The entire hotel is an interesting combination of a modern facility located in a very old building, while maintaining the architectural integrety. There are enough irritations however, that I would think twice before returning. Besides the Wi-fi and the front door, the fact that the only way to book a room is by paying in advance does little to encourage one from recommending it to people.

Shopping Tip : Euralille (near the station) is CLOSED on Sunday - don't make the same mistake we did if you want to go shopping! Also note that Sunday is very quiet, so check out restaurants and places to go (Palais des Beaux Arts was open and well worth seeing!) beforehand.

Stylish. Beautiful room. Covered patio is quite different. Lille is a beautiful, old Flemish town of origin. The Alliance Couvent Des Minimes Hotel fits perfectly in this environment. It is an old monastery early nineties is completely restored. It is located next to the Citadel. The center, Grand Place and Place Charles de Gaulle, is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Inde immediate vicinity you find a great variety restaurants. The famous Sunday market is a twenty minute walk from the hotel.
