Best Western Nautica Hotel Nice Info
The trusty Best Western brand delivers again with this sunny renovated property near Nice Port and the Acropolis Congress Hall.
Close to the harbor and the colorful old town, the best Western Nautica is family-, pet- and executive-friendly. A short walk from the glitz and money of the port area, this property is also within walking range of the MAMAC, the old chateau, the TLN shopping center and the tram that leads straight into town and the promenade. Refurbished interiors are brightly decorated and indeed stick to a nautical theme; rooms are less nautical but just as jaunty and offer wifi, air-conditioning and sound insulation. Dining out from here is problematic in that there are so many places to choose from.
Walking towards the harbor is a safe bet � the yachts, the water and the moonlight providing a backdrop difficult to better.

Convenient to most everything-The Tram, shopping, the Acropolis Convention Center, and good, safe area to walk places.
No good restaurants close-by. Hotel restaurant only open for the breakfast buffet.
The Best Western Nautica is what most would call an adequate hotel. There is nothing special about it that would make it memorable, but it is also not memorable from a negative view. I was disappointed that the hotel restaurant was only open for the buffet breakfast, and there was no room service available. The only restaurant nearby was a McDonald's. There are restaurants in the Carrefour Mall, but the mall closed very early as it is not season in Nice. The same goes for the stores in the main walking promenade. Shops began closing at 6 pm and all were closed by 8 pm except for a few restaurants.
The hotel itself could use a little refurbishing. Everything was clean, but quite well worn. The front desk was not very helpful, mostly because of my limited French and their limited English. All in all I was not disappointed in the experience. It is after all still Nice, France. A great place to visit anytime. In the end I would still recommend the Nautica as an inexpensive place to stay. I would stay there again.
Shopping Tip : The best place to shop is in the main promenade area where the streets are closed to traffic. Walk four short blocks to the Tram (Acropolis). Get off at the third stop and you are in front of the Lafayette Mall. The no traffic walkway is directly across from the mall. It feels like the Nice we have all seen in the movies.
