Very near to all major train lines and subway. Lots of restaurants nearby Near to the street. Very noisy. The hotel is a very ancient building. The room is not big. Walking along the corridor to the room is like a maze. The hotel is pricey probably because it is in Europe.
Restaurant Tip : Order a seafood set 18euros. Good for 2 person. Raw oyster and other seafood.

super location next to the gare du nord, surrounded by good restaurants, value for money. my sink was broken and the water pressure low.. but the room was very clean, and the service excellent. Highly recommended for Paris first timers or on business for a quick stay and look around. I took a last minute trip to Paris, not really knowing the city. The Mercure Gare du Nord was an excellent choice as I was able to easily go from the airport to the hotel by direct train, visit the expo in villepont and easily get around the rest of the city during my stay. The hotel staff really helped me and gave me some good tips! Recommended to visit the Brasserie 1925 Terminal du Nord restaurant (directly next to the hotel) for EXCELLENT seafood platters and the most charming, wonderfully attentive waiters in Paris! :) I had breakfast and dinner there for 3 consecutive days!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are in Paris for a few days, buy the 1,2,3 or 5 day travel pass at the airport. Hotel is amist some great restaurants, but worth it take a stroll down Rue de la Faubourge along the Gare, to see the indian shops and restaurants.
