With lots of features for families and business travelers, this hotel in the 12th arrondissement is handy to trains and close to the Seine. The quaint and cramped Parisian hotel experience isn't for everyone and the Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon provides all the comforts and extras that many travelers forgo in the quest for authenticity. Right next to Gare de Lyon station (and sound insulated) this property features large rooms, a pool, a play area for children, cooked breakfasts and friendly staff conversant in English, while nearby guests will find supermarkets and restaurants and a ten-minute walk up the Seine, the Notre Dame. The shops and cafes of the Marais are nearby and for a memorable fine dining experience, the opulent 1900 Le Train Bleu restaurant is right next door above the station.

This hotel is very conveniently located within easy walking distance of gare de Lyon metro station- which means very quick access to pretty much all city sights. Although breakfast was not included, there are plenty of dining options within walling distance.
The rooms were well sized with nice modern furniture. The bathroom was a bit dated, but clean and well appointed. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Overall this hotel is excellent value for money- would highly recommend.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't worry about being out of the "centre" of town- take the metro to gare de Lyon which is only minutes from the hotel! Buy a book of 10 metro tickets to save money if in Paris for a few days, or a carte orange for longer ( if you do this you will need a passport photo- lots of photo booths in stations)
