Sully Saint-Germain Hotel Paris Info

Sully Saint-Germain Hotel has wonderful staff, a great location in the bussing Latin Quarter and a metro station almost on the doorstep. There are plenty of sights to visits in the area, one of the oldest districts of Paris including Notre Dame Cathedral, Sorbonne University, Orsay Museum and many more. Spacious wooden floored rooms are a notch above the norm, and the mock brick decor with ornate iron or wooden headboards on the beds gives a feeling of the history of the area. Despite the rustic charm modern amenities including internet connection and international phone are provided.

Great location, great breakfast and nice rooms.

A bar that is open would be good - there is a bar in the hotel but very small and not always open. Rooms are quite small.

This is a very nice old hotel. It is in a great location, with good cafes/brasseries nearby. There are also many interesting museums nearby and the Pantheon is in the street behind the hotel - not to be missed. The famous University Sabonne is in the same street. The rooms are rather small but are well appointed. The breakfast room and ambiance is very good with a good array of foods for international visitors. The reception staff are courteous and will make bookings for you, with no problem. It is very close to the Metro as well. All in all a good hotel in the Latin Quarter.

Very good location; helpful friendly staff; clean room.

Elevator was ridiculously small; my wife and I had to go up separately when we each had only one suitcase.

The Sully Saint-Germain Hotel is located in the Latin quarter, nearby to many small shops and restaurants. It is close to two very convenient metro stops, and within walking distance of major attractions like Notre Dame cathedral and the Pantheon. The room was sparse with stone walls, an armoire closet and a small bathroom, but it was clean and comfortable. I thought it was moderately priced and a fair value.

Hotel Feature Tip : There is a free computer/internet access off the lobby which we only found out about by accident. Be careful because the French keyboard is arranged differently.

Location, friendly staff

Wireless connectivity

We reserved this hotel due to the price, location and wireless connectivity. Well, two out of three ain’t bad. The price was fixed and the location (a short walk from the Maubert-Mutualité Métro station) was ideal. The design of the lobby and the rooms is quite attractive. The basic double room is fairly small by American standards, but has lots of storage space (closets and drawers, etc.). Unfortunately, the promised internet was not accessible in the rooms. To use it, you had to bring your laptop and other materials down to the lobby, then jockey for position with the rest of the hotel guests set up for surfing. We like to bring our laptop with us to help with planning our outings, so reliable, room-accesible internet is important to us. We were a little disappointed on that score. There were a couple of other odd occurrences. There was a brief power outage one evening - about 30 seconds with no lights. Not a big deal to us, but we did overhear another couple complaining to the concierge about another outage the previous evening that happened while the woman was in the shower. So I guess that happens with some regularity. Also, on the morning of our checkout, I couldn’t get the water temperature to cooperate. It started out normal, but then started switching between burning hot and freezing cold. It made rinsing my hair an adventure. The breakfast included in our rate was adequate, except for the coffee (it was dreadful). The elevators are extremely small, so occasionally taking the stairs is the best option. Generally, it was a pleasant experience. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but as a place to sleep, shower and keep your stuff while you’re out experiencing Paris, the Sully Saint-Germain is a good choice.
