But the service was friendly, the rooms were comfortable and the shower was strong and hot.

More expensive, but that's also a function of the entire city. It was conveniently located with a number of metro stations and surrounded by eating options whether coffee shops or restaurants. Also very close to the main train station Gare Montparnasse for those who travel out to other towns like Versailles or Cannes. Wireless internet is available but requires constant log ons.
