+ location: very close to the train station, just 10 minutes walk from the center of the Island of Strasbourg + lot of charm in the "traditional" wing. just beware they have a very modern style wing (I'll explain later). The salon is very nice too, with a mid/small size, high quality american pool which you can play for free, any time. + staff is very nice, very comprehensive (i'll explain this also) + separate bathroom and toilet

- let say there are 2 wings in the building, very different. depending on availabilities you might be in the one you don't like. - double bed are not real double, but twin beds arranged in double bed way. - ok.. let's be picky, I just remembered the elevator is very slow. (just as an additional note we could'nt find the TV remote control, and didn't ask for it)

So.. really convenient as it's very close to the train station, and at the same time quite close to the center, an affordable 15 minutes walk and you reach the cathedral. As I wrote in pro/cons, they have 2 or even 3 kind of rooms, meaning anyone can match its taste (see the good point). We arrived, we saw a very nice room in the traditional wing, but with twin beds. we asked for a change of room with double bed, and thus got to visit the other part of the hotel. very very modern room, nice furniture, bigger bathroom with marble, but ... the double bed was just twin beds arranged into a double bed, and the room had much of a hospital-like effect. actually the room had quite a lot of things to help for disabled or old people, which is a good thing in fact, so far I haven't seen much hotels equipped this way. The thing is just that when you've just visited the traditional rooms and switch to the "hospital" part... so we asked again for a change of room. they had a 3rd kind of rooms, that we didn't see but would not have been as traditional as the first one. so we went back to the first room, rearranged the bed sheets ourselves. the bathroom was not as good in the 2nd one, but we noticed 2 nice real balconys that we hadn't the first time. so in the end it was a very nice stay. During all this visit of the different rooms, the staff was of course very nice. There is no curfew, and you can play the american pool in the salon at anytime, just ask for the balls at front desk. breakfast was nice, just as you can expect from this kind of hotel, a buffet with usual western goods for breakfast, with some local cheese like Munster, and some local or southwest germany cakes (like gateau "foret noire"). we didn't try the real restaurant there, not enough time.

Travel tip : like most hotels, they have a locker where you can leave things after your checkout, and as the hotel is very close to the train station, it's actually very convenient to just leave your things, go visit "light" on the last day, and take your stuff back just before the train station. in the city, beware shops are closing quite early, around 19h (as usual in france...) museums opens at 12h, so don't plan to visit them in the morning. don't miss the cathedral clock show, starts at 12h (it's actually a video explaining the clock's stuff in french/german/english, followed at 12h30 by some movements of the clock's automates) if you're not familiar with Alsace food, try as much specialities as you can, among which choucroute, flamekuch, munster cheese, white wines... just to cite the very famous ones :)
